Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Kuwait

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Kuwaiti Visa.


  • A properly completed Kuwait visa application form.
  • An original passport valid for a minimum of six months after entry into Kuwait.
  • At least 2 passport photos that meet the guidelines of the Embassy of Kuwait.
  • Police clearance stating the applicant has no criminal record.
  • A health certificate including HIV test results issued by a reputable hospital in Rwanda.
  • Travel sponsor's original contact number and home address.
  • A detailed report of applicant's travel plans.
  • A valid bank statement showing dating back to at least 3 months of use.
  • Proof of financial stability of the applicant for the duration of stay.

Kuwait Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements


  • This visa is issued to people who want to go to Kuwait for the purpose of tourism, leisure and family visitation. 
  • All travelers will need a valid passport with at least 2 blank visa pages for the visa to be issued. In cases where the applicant has applied for a new passport or passport renewal, old passports have to be attached to the new one.
  • Applicants are advised to travel with at least 6 months of validity remaining on their passport.
  • A Kuwait visit visa must be sponsored by a Kuwait company or by a relative that is a resident foreigner staying in the country. Before traveling to Kuwait, a visitor can have his visa processed and passport stamped at the nearest Kuwait embassy.
  • For travelers who have relatives living in Kuwait, they are expected to have a proof of relationship and submit it with other documents.
  • A Kuwait sponsor can use a faxed copy of the visitor’s passport to obtain the visit visa in Kuwait. A copy of the visa can also be faxed to the visitor to enable him or her travel to Kuwait.
  • A bank statement and other proof of financial sustainability of the sponsor would also be needed.    
  • Visitors who entered Kuwait on a visit visa are not allowed to work.
  • If you overstay your visa, you may face expensive fines or even imprisonment.
  • Applicants would be denied entry if their passports are not valid for a minimum of 6 months after entry to the country. 
  • Visitors not holding return/onward tickets could be refused entry. 

Kuwait Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A visit visa for business is gotten by those who visit Kuwait with the intention of having business meetings, attending conferences and signing contracts.
  • To obtain the Kuwait visit visa for business, the applicant must have a sponsor.
  • Kuwait visit visa application should be filled out by the sponsor and faxed to the applicant who then submits it to the embassy.
  • The sponsor’s signature as registered for business purposes is needed for the visa application. 
  • A copy of the sponsor’s letter of invitation to the business is needed.

Kuwait Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to applicants who intend to work in Kuwait. 
  • To work in the country, applicants are expected to obtain a residence visa and a work permit.
  • The residence permit used by Kuwait is a civil ID. It  must be valid for the process to continue.
  • Passengers with a resident visa or a work permit traveling to Kuwait for the first time are required to hold an original criminal clearance certificate authenticated by Kuwait Embassy in the representing country.
  • Laborers or workers need an endorsement by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour which would in turn be stamped by the embassy where the visa application was placed. 
  • Applicants are to note that Residence Permits issued by Kuwait become invalid if the passenger stays out of Kuwait for more than 6 months. A visa would be required to re-enter Kuwait.
