Macedonia Short-Stay Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for individuals who want to visit Macedonia for a short period. The visa requires applicants to pick a reason for going to Macedonia.
- Travelers on this visa apply for reasons such as tourism, business, conferences, holidays, visiting family or any other short term purposes.
- Applicants are issued this visa for a period not more than 3 months.
- This visa is tagged as the Type-C visa and is valid for 6 months.
- You are to submit a notarized warranty letter i.e. invitation by a Macedonian physical/legal person.
- Applicants are expected to have proof of possession of sufficient resources for the duration of the stay in the Republic of Macedonia (credit card/ bank statement).
- Applicants are not expected to take up employment in the country.
- In exceptional cases where work is for a period less than 30 days and a work permit is not required, the employer only reports such work at the Employment Agency of the Republic of Macedonia.
Macedonia Long-Stay Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The long-stay visa is issued to applicants who want to stay in Macedonia for a couple for years.
- This visa is tagged the Type-D visa.
- Foreigners who intend to be granted temporary residence in the Republic of Macedonia are issued the long-stay visa.
- The reasons for applying for this visa type include; employment or self-employment, attending school or studies, participation in international student/pupil exchange programs, specialization, vocational education, or practical training, scientific research, medical treatment, and many others.
- The foreigner who is issued a long-stay visa is required to report to the Ministry of Internal Affairs within five days from the date of entry into the Republic of Macedonia where the Ministry shall issue him or her a temporary residence permit within 25 (twenty-five) days from the date of reporting.
- Applicants should submit the documents corresponding to the visa type which are stipulated in the document needed for a long-stay visa.
- Applicants who want to work in Macedonia are to obtain a work permit to guarantee their purpose for being in the country.
- The work permit is issued within 45 days provided the documentation is complete.
- Permits are extendable provided that you are conducting an economic activity and have achieved an acceptable income level.
- You also must have resided in Macedonia for at least a quarter of the period for which the permit was issued.
Macedonia Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The transit visa is issued to applicants who want to transit through Macedonia to another country.
- A transit visa can be issued for one, two or multiple transits, provided that each transit period does not exceed 5 days.
- There are two types- Type-A and Type-B. Type A is valid for 24 hours and Type B is valid for 5 days.
- A transit visa can be issued only if foreigners prove his or her admission to the country he or she enters directly from the Republic of Macedonia as well as fulfills the general visa requirements.
- The validity of the transit visa may not be longer than one year.
- When passing through the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, the foreigner may not stay longer than five days.
