Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Malaysia
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Malaysian Visa.
- A valid visa application form that has been sincerely filled.
- An original passport valid for at least 6 months after the stated departure date.
- Two recent colored photos (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm).
- Original vaccination certificates from a certified health organization in Rwanda.
- Medical insurance that covers the applicant's duration of stay.
- A bank statement dating back to the last 3 months and an Income Tax Revenue document.
- A detailed flight itinerary.
- Proof of accommodation in the form of a hotel reservation or any other form.
- A birth certificate (in case of a minor).
- No Objection Certificate or a letter of consent from both parents (for minors).
- A return or onward ticket.

Malaysia Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Malaysia visit visa is issued to individuals who want to go to Malaysia for a short period.
- People that want to travel for tourism, business or family visitations are those who can apply for this visa.
- It is issued as either a single or multiple entry visa. The single-entry visa is valid for a maximum of 30 days and allows only one entry into Malaysia.
- You would be required to apply for a new visa if you leave Malaysia before the departure date stated on the single-entry visa and you want to re-enter.
- The multiple-entry visa is valid for more than 30 days and allows as many entries as possible within the validity period.
- Applicants of this visa are given a social visa pass stamp on their passport to show that they are allowed to enter Malaysia.
- Visas issued with the social visa pass stamp are called visas without reference.
- Applicants are expected to have sufficient funds on arrival in Malaysia. This serves as proof that they can maintain themselves in Malaysia.
- The immigration counter at the entry point has the absolute authority to decide whether or not travelers can enter Malaysia. Permission to enter and remain in Malaysia is at the decision and discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department.
- Applicants are also allowed to extend their stay in Malaysia.
- Immigration officials will place an entry stamp (social visit pass) in your passport authorizing a stay of up to 90 days.
- If you overstay your visa, you will not be allowed to exit Malaysia until you resolve the overstay with the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
Malaysia Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who want to study in Malaysia.
- All travel documents must be completed for the application.
- Student visas for Malaysia are part of the Visa with Reference types that need inquiry before they are applied for. Inquiries are made by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
- Applicants are required to submit the Offer / Acceptance letter from the educational institute where they plan to pursue their education.
- Students who wish to transfer to a university/college need a release letter from their previously attended university/college, as well as their attendance reports and academic performance reports.
- A copy of all the performance records would be requested for as well.
Malaysia Work Permits Eligibility & Requirements
- Work permits are issued for foreign nationals who intend to work in Malaysia.
- These permits are valid for a period between 6 months to 5 years.
- Work permits can be in the form of either long-duration employment passes, temporary employment passes or professional visit passes granted to foreigners.
- A passport valid for at least 6 months after entry into Malaysia, with at least three blank pages is required.
- An offer letter, acceptance letter or employment contract would be needed as proof of employment in the country.
- A Letter of Approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Malaysia is also required.
- An approved medical report of the applicant should be submitted with other documents.
- Applicants can attach a Letter of Recommendation from a relevant company/agency in Malaysia. Documents relating to the applicant's sponsor should also be submitted.
- Copies of the applicant’s educational certificates and CV would also be requested for.
