Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Solomon Islander Visa.

General Requirements for Solomon Islands Visa

Solomon Islands Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This tourist visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Solomon Islands for tourism, vacation, visiting friends and families or other leisure activities.
- You must have a valid Rwandan passport with at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps. Your passport must have a validity of not less than 6 months beyond your departure date from Solomon Islands.
- You are required to make a coloured and clear copy of your passport data page (page containing personal details).
- A visa application form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant before submission.
- You must provide proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of your stay in Solomon Islands. This could be in the form of your most recent bank account statements.
- You are required to provide a copy of your return flight ticket to your country of origin or an onward ticket to your next destination. This is to prove that you intend to leave the Solomons once your visa expires.
- If you plan to move on to another country from the Solomons, you must also have a valid visa to enter the other country.
- A copy of your travel itinerary clearly showing places you intend to visit in the Solomons should also be submitted.
- If you are visiting relatives or friends, you are required to provide a letter of invitation from them, showing their contact details. If travelling for tourism, though, submitting a hotel name and address would suffice.
- This tourist visa allows you to stay in Solomon Islands for a maximum of 90 days. However, the visa can be extended for up to 3 months.
- Visitors are obliged to behave in a peaceful and orderly manner when in Solomon Islands.
- Foreigners with a tourist visa are not permitted to engage in business or get paid for any service rendered.
- As a visitor in Solomon Islands, you are not allowed to engage in any religious vocation or any form of research without the approval of the Minister of immigration.
Solomon Islands Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Rwandans who intend to travel to Solomon Islands to engage in any business activity need a business visa.
- You must have a valid Rwandan passport with at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps. Your passport must have a validity of not less than 6 months beyond your departure date from the Solomon Islands.
- A visa application form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant before submission. An incomplete visa application form might delay the processing of your visa application.
- You are required to make a copy of your passport data page (page containing personal details).
- You must also submit a signed business letter from the partner company in Solomon Islands stating the purpose of your travel.
- You are required to provide proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of your stay in Solomon Islands. This could be in the form of your most recent bank account statements. If your company will be sponsoring your trip, you should submit a letter signed by an authorised officer in your company stating the purpose of your travel and guarantee that the company will cover your expenses for the entire duration of your stay in Solomon Islands.
- You are required to provide a copy of your return flight ticket to your country of origin or an onward ticket to your next destination. This is to prove that you intend to leave the Solomons once your visa expires.
- Without a business visa, you are not authorised to engage in any business activity or to receive payment for any services rendered while in Solomon Islands.
- If you plan to travel to another country from the Solomons, you must also have a valid visa to enter the other country.
- If you intend to engage in business for more than 30 days, you must obtain a work permit from the Commissioner of Labour and submit it to the Director of Immigration.
Solomon Islands Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The student visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to reside and study in Solomon Islands for more than 3 months.
- Your Rwandan passport must be original and have a validity of not less than 6 months beyond the visa expiration date.
- To apply for a student visa for Solomon Islands, you must have been offered admission to an institution in the country. As proof, you are required to submit an admission offer letter or an acceptance letter from the institution.
- Your visa application form must be accompanied by a duly completed Student Nomination Form by the educational institution
- 1 passport-size photograph clearly showing your full face must be submitted with your completed application form.
- A coloured copy of the biodata page of your passport must also be submitted.
- You are required to provide an original police report showing no criminal record or pending case.
- A medical report, obtained from a medical institution and signed by a doctor, showing a clean bill of health must also be submitted.
- If you are married, you must present your marriage certificate.
- If your stay in Solomon Islands will be sponsored by a third party, they are required to fill the Sponsorship Form (Form 16) to confirm the details of your sponsorship.
- You are also to submit a cover letter stating the purpose of your travel to Solomon Islands, the course you have been admitted to study, the duration of the course and what you intend to do once your study is completed.
- Payment receipt of the visa application fee must be submitted.
- If you are a minor, you should provide proof of prearranged accommodation and sufficient funds for the entire duration of your stay in Solomon Islands. You should also submit a letter of consent signed by both parents or guardians, allowing you to travel to Solomon Islands.
- Note that, the visa application form must be originally submitted to the office of the representative of Solomon Islands in your country. If such representation is not available in your country, you should submit to a designated proxy in a neighbouring company.
- The student visa only permits you to participate in the course approved in the Student Nomination Form. If you wish to change course, a new Student Nomination Form and application is required.

Can I extend my short-stay visa?
The short-stay visa (granted for tourism, vacation and short-term business) may be extended for up to 3 months, but only under special circumstances. This means that you must have a very good reason to stay in Solomon Islands longer than the originally approved duration before your visa can be extended.
