Basic Travel Requirements for Senegaleses visiting Switzerland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Swiss Visa.


  • A valid passport that has been issued within the previous 10 years.
  • The passport has 2 full blank pages, one for the visa stamp and an additional spare page.
  • The passport must be valid for at least three (3) months after the date you exit Switzerland.
  • A valid Switzerland residence permit or other forms of Identity Card. The Switzerland residency permit must be endorsed in the actual passport (or on a new biometric ID card)
  • One application form filled out completely and signed by the applicant.
  • One passport photograph that has a light background, is brightly colored and shows full face features. 
  • The photo must be less than three months old and be attached with a paper-clip on the application form.
  • A cover/invitation letter that explains the purpose of the visit to Switzerland
  • Proof of travel arrangements such as a copy of round trip flight/travel itinerary showing exit and entry dates to Switzerland is required.
  • Medical/Travel insurance stating that the applicant is covered in case of a medical emergency for the whole duration of stay in Switzerland.
  • Proof of accommodation in Switzerland which could be a copy of a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from a host in Switzerland.
  • The host in Switzerland could either be a family member, a friend, tour organization or business company/organization in Switzerland.
  • Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of 60 euros for the visa application.
  • Original bank statement of the last three months showing proof of sufficient funds for the whole duration of stay in Switzerland.
  • Photocopies of the original documents required should also be submitted and documents should not be more than one month old.
