  • Montenegro which means "Black Mountain" is a sovereign state located in South-eastern Europe.
  • Citizens of Singapore can visit Montenegro for a maximum period of 90 days without a visa.
  • Singaporeans with a national ID card can stay for only 30 days, but can stay up to 90 days if using a passport.
  • Visitors are required to tender a passport with at least 3 months validity after the planned date of departure from Montenegro.
  • The country is home to about 600,000 inhabitants.
  • Visitors are expected to declare at least 10,000 EUR cash or in travelers cheque before entering or leaving the country.
  • Certification of  vaccination against Chicken pox,Hepatitis A  and B, Rabies, Meningitis, Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMP), Shingles, Influenza and Tdap is required.
  • Montenegro is predominantly an Orthodox Christian country. Montenegrins also practice Islam, Atheism and Protestantism. 
  • The country places restrictions on the quantity of groceries and food brought into the country by visitors to a total of 5 kg for fresh fruits/ vegetables and 1 kg for other products.
  • Restrictions are also placed on the quantity of tobacco and alcohol brought into the country.

  • Montenegro uses the Central European Summer Time (GMT+2) hence, Singapore is 7 hours ahead of Montenegro.
  • The official currency of Montenegro is the Euro.
  • Public transportation is made  possible in Montenegro through buses and trains. The trains are however cheaper and better.
