Basic Travel Requirements for Tanzanians visiting Greece

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Greek Visa.

  • Tanzanian passport which will be valid 6 months after exiting from the country.
  • The passport must contain two blank pages for visa stamps.
  • Duly completed visa application form. 
  • The form should carry the necessary signatures and stamps.
  • Two passport-sized photographs taken on a white background and follow the visa application specification.
  • The photograph must be at least 3 months old from the time of application.
  • Original bank statement for the last three months prior to the date of application for the visa. Salary payslips may be used in place of the bank statement.
  • Valid travel insurance which has a coverage of €30,000 for medical insurance.
  • Proof of accommodation for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Return flight ticket.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.

Greece Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is for persons who wish to engage in business activities in Greece throughout their entire stay.
  • You are allowed to meet up with business partners for meetings and to negotiate and sign business contracts.
  • Holders of this visa can also attend trade fairs and conferences during their time in the country.
  • An invitation letter from your partner company in Greece should be provided. The company’s address, the purpose of your visit and the duration of your visit should be clearly stated in the letter.
  • If the Greek company is going to take care of your expenses during your time in the country, it should be stated in the letter.
  • A letter from your employer in Tanzania stating awareness and allowance of your business travel for the duration of your stay in Greece.
  • Proof of previous dealings with the company should be provided if any.
  • A certificate of business registration of your business partner in Greece is required.
  • With this visa, you cannot take up paid employment in the country.
  • This visa does not allow foreigners to seek public funds in the country.
  • Non-Tanzanians should ensure that they have a copy of their stay permit.
  • Proof of paid visa application fee is required.
  • Tanzanians are expected to exit the country at the expiry of their visas.

Greece Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • If you are a Tanzanian who seeks medical treatment from any medical facility in Greece then this visa type is for you.
  • If you are accompanying someone who seeks medical assistance in any hospital in Greece, then this visa type is also for you.
  • You are to submit a referral letter from a physician in Tanzania stating your medical issues and that the treatment can not be gotten anywhere in Tanzania but in Greece.
  • A medical attestation from the hospital or doctor in Greece, confirming the date of appointment as well as your medical situation is to be submitted.
  • A letter of employment from your employer in Tanzania including information on leave of absence must be submitted.
  • Proof that medical fees have been paid is also to be submitted.
  • This may be in the form of a receipt or payslips that indicate payment to the hospital in Greece.
  • Minors must ensure they possess the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • If they are traveling with one of their parents, a document of consent which is signed by both parents of the minor should be provided.

Greece Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • If you are going to Greece for relaxation, sightseeing, tourism, visiting family or friends, and engaging in recreational activities then you are the right candidate for this visa.
  • Those who have a host in Greece are required to present a letter of invitation from their host. 
  • The home address and telephone number of the host should be included in the letter.
  • All travelers with tourist visas are not allowed to enroll in any of the schools in the country.
  • Holders of this visa can attend events and festivals if they so wish.
  • You are required to have a letter from your employer in Tanzania stating awareness of your leave. 
  • The duration of your leave should be stated in the letter.
  • Non-Tanzanians are to provide a copy of their Tanzanian stay permit.
  • Original copy of minors’ birth certificate is to be submitted if the applicant is a minor.
  • If they are not traveling with their parents, a letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided.
  • A document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to Tanzania is to be submitted also.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fees is required.
  • Paid or unpaid employment in the country for foreigners is strictly prohibited.
  • During your time in the country, you are not allowed to seek public funds.

Greece Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa type is for persons who intend to transit through Greece.
  • You are to provide your flight ticket and visa of your destination country during the visa application process.
  • Minors are to provide the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate.
  • Persons who have been previously convicted will not be issued this visa.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fee is to be submitted.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to work or study during their time in the country.
  • Proof that you have the incentive to return to Tanzania after your visa has expired is to be submitted.
  • The visa is valid for 5 days.
  • You are required to exit the country before the expiration of your visa.
  • This visa cannot be extended.

Greece Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Tanzanians who have been offered admission into any institution in Greece or those who are coming for internship purposes are eligible for this visa.
  • Before applying for this visa, you must have been accepted into the institution of your choice in Greece.
  • A letter of admission written with the school’s letterhead should be submitted during the visa application process.
  • Certificates and transcripts from previously attended schools in Tanzania are to be provided.
  • A copy of your residence permit in Tanzania should be provided if you are not a citizen.
  • While studying in Greece, you are allowed to be employed part-time as long as it does not interfere with your education.
  • The visa may be extended to cover the length of your study.
  • If you are a minor traveling without your parents, a letter of consent signed by both parents must be provided. 
  • An unabridged original copy of your birth certificate is also required.
  • You will be punished if you are caught seeking public funds while in Greece.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.

  • You are to leave Greece on or before the expiration of this visa.
