Basic Travel Requirements for Tanzanians visiting Spain
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Spanish Visa.
- A Tanzanian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Passport-size photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) taken in white background.
- Travel document.
- Proof of financial support.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Documentation showing the applicant’s ties to Tanzania.
- Travel medical insurance of 30,000 euros to cover the duration of the entire stay.

General Requirements for Spain Visa

Spain Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The business visa is for applicants who want to travel to Spain for business purposes solely.
- This visa holds a validity of 3 months.
- You are to submit an invitation letter from the company in Spain that you will be visiting and their detailed address accompanied with the dates of your visit.
- A certificate from your employer stating/allowing your business travel is also to be submitted.
- If there have been previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events should be provided.
- You are to submit a business bank statement for the last 6 months.
- You are to submit a memorandum and Article of Association in an original certified copy (registered with joint-stock companies) and Trade License (first issued and present renewal).
- A document regarding the applicant’s expenses during their stay in Spain is to be submitted also.
- Either the employer or the partner company must state who will cover the applicant's expenses throughout the trip in the letter.
- If you are going for religious or crew/television purposes, you must provide an invitation letter from the authorities with details about the nature of events or activities, purpose of visit, expense coverage, the names of the applicants (crew members), duration of their stay.
- You are to submit a well-detailed travel itinerary.
- You are to leave Spain on or before the expiration of your visa.
Spain Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for applicants who want to go to Spain to seek medical treatment.
- Travelers must already have a valid health insurance coverage of at least 30,000 euros before traveling for medical treatment.
- You are to provide a diagnosis from a doctor/ hospital in Tanzania.
- The letter should state why the treatment is best administered in Spain and the duration of the treatment.
- A letter from the doctor in Spain stating that he has accepted to take up the treatment should be provided.
- The nature of the treatment and the intended time of recovery should also be clearly stated in the letter.
- You are to provide an incentive to show that you will return to Tanzania after your medical treatment.
- You are not to use this visa for business, study and tourism purposes.
- Persons who wish to accompany sick applicants are to write a letter stating so and submit with the other requested documents.
- Accompanying persons are not to use this visa to tour Spain or go visiting.
- If you are accompanying a sick person, you are to provide a document which shows that you have the incentive to return to Tanzania at the expiration of this visa.
Spain Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa type is for Tanzanians who have been accepted to study in any academic institution in Spain.
- The cost of living for students in Spain is very affordable.
- Tuition at some colleges costs as little as 5,500 Euros per year while others cost upwards of 12,000 Euros per year. This also depends on your study degree.
- Applicants can also apply for financial aid assistance such as student loans, grants, and scholarships.
- It is advisable to learn Spanish as a language.
- Students should have at least 300 Euros monthly to sustain themselves financially.
- Applicants looking to study for more than three months are eligible to apply for a residence permit.
- A letter of invitation from the Spanish college/university is to be submitted.
- Proof that you have enough financial means for the length of your stay is also to be submitted.
- Medical insurance with international coverage of at least 30,000 Euros for the entire Schengen area is required.
- Medical certificate to prove that you are in good health and carry no infectious diseases like Tuberculosis must be provided.
- A certificate of absence of police records issued by your national police force in Tanzania is to be submitted also.
- You are to leave Spain on or before the expiration of this visa.
Spain Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa type is for persons who want to visit Spain for tourism, visiting family and friends, leisure, relaxation, and sightseeing purposes.
- A visitor who wants to enter Spain as a tourist requires a short term visa. This short term visa is also known as Schengen (tourist) visa.
- This visa is issued for a maximum duration of 90 days.
- Three colored copies of the data page of the passport are to be submitted.
- Two 3.5cm x 4.5cm colored passport photographs that is not more than 1 month old and with a white background is to be submitted also.
- Bank statements of the last 6 months is required.
- Personal statement of account for the past six months and that of your company, if you are being sponsored is to be submitted also.
- General income generated by a property, share certificates, bonds, and proof of ties to Tanzania (marriage certificate) are required, if any.
- Proof of accommodation arrangement that could be hotel bookings or house address of family or friend in Spain is necessary.
- You must show proof of having valid travel insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
Spain Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This transit visa is for Tanzanians who want to transit through Spain to other countries.
- You are allowed to stay in Spain for a maximum period of 5 days.
- You are to be in possession of your flight ticket and visa for your final destination country.
- If you are under the age of 18 years, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
- Foreigners who have been previously convicted can not be issued this visa.
- Proof of payment of visa application fees is to be submitted.
- You are not allowed to study or take up paid or unpaid employment during your time in the country.
- The documents submitted by applicants should be in either English or Spanish.
- You are required to exit the country before the expiration of your visa.
- This visa cannot be extended.
