Entry Requirements

  • For a duration of 30 days, the government of Swaziland permits Tanzanians to visit the country without a visa.
  • Nationals of Tanzania who wish to stay longer than the 30-day validity period are to apply and pay for an extension at the  Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Prospective visitors are required to have a passport valid for a minimum of 3 months from the date of entry into Swaziland. The passport should have at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Visitors should note that Swaziland is also called Eswatini. It was renamed by King Mswati III of Swaziland.
  • A return ticket to Tanzania or onward destination will be required.
  • Citizens of Tanzania travelling to Swaziland must provide proof of a confirmed means of accommodation for their entire stay in Swaziland. This could be in the form of a hotel reservation or a sponsor letter from a host living in the country.
  • Intending visitors will also be required to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination before being grant entry into Swaziland.
  • Prospective visitors can get to Swaziland from any of the international airports in Tanzania. There are international airports in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza.
