Belarus Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belarus tourist visa is issued to Thais traveling to Belarus for tourism and visitation purposes.
  • Travelers can enter Belarus with a Schengen visa given that they apply for multiple-entry.
  • This visa is valid for 90 days and cannot be extended.
  • Travelers who overstay their visa will face administrative action which may include a fine of up to €550, deportation, and prohibition from entering Belarus in the future.
  • On arrival, travelers are required to register with the local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior (formerly OVIR).
  • If you are staying in a hotel, the hotel will complete the registration for you.
  • If you have a short term rental of an apartment or house, be sure to check with the rental agent; they may be able to assist you.
  • Travelers are required to provide proof of financial sustenance. You are required to have 30 Euros per day to cover your daily finances.
  • All visa applicants have to present a medical travel insurance valid for Belarus.
  • A travel insurance has to contain the following information:
    • Name, address and phone number of the insurance company.
    • Full name of the policy holder.
    • Insurance policy number.
    • Insurance territorial coverage (should be valid in Belarus or worldwide).
    • Insurance term of validity (should be valid through the period of the travel or temporary residence in Belarus).
    • Amount of emergency medical coverage (should not be less than 10.000 Euro ~ $12.000 with $0 deductible).
  • Taking photographs of anything that could be perceived as being of military or security interest may result in problems with authorities; these sites are not always clearly marked and application of these restrictions is subject to interpretation. 
  • Foreigners may be placed under surveillance. Hotel rooms, telephones, and fax machines may be monitored, and personal possessions in hotel rooms may be searched. 
  • Exercise caution when visiting bars, casinos and night clubs, and do not leave your drink unattended.
  • Carry your passport at all times. Police have the authority to stop you and request identification. If you fail to provide your ID, you may be detained by the police until your identity is established.

Belarus Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Thais can apply for the Belarus business visa if they are intending to travel for business purposes.
  • A covering letter from the company should be provided.
  • The covering letter provided by the company should be acceptable based on the following conditions:
    • It must mention the details of the traveler's stay in the country.
    • It must contain the traveler's as well as the company's information and should be issued on the company's letterhead along with the official seal and signature.
  • The applicant is required to provide a bank statement.
  • The Bank statement is a mandatory document and it should meet the following criteria:
    • It must be issued for not longer than 2 to 5 days before the date of application.
    • It must be provided with an authentic seal and signature from the bank.
    • It must be original and obtained from the savings bank account.
    • It must be evident of a healthy balance amount in the account.
    • It must be original and should have the bank's stamp and signature on every page.
  • Proof of income tax must be provided. And it must meet with the following criteria:
    • It must be provided for the last three years of ITR.
    • It must be provided with legitimate documentary proof of the payment of income tax.
  • If the applicant was invited by a company in Belarus, they must provide an invitation letter from the company.
  • The letter of invitation from the company submitted should match the following criteria:
    • It must be original and must be attested from the Ministry of External Affairs, Belarus.
    • It must contain the signature of the authority along with the designation, name of the company and the stamp.
    • It must mention the contact details, the purpose of travel, sponsorship details, and other important documents.
    • It must be addressed to the respective diplomatic mission.
