France Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The France tourist visa is issued to Thais looking to travel to France for tourism and invitation purposes.
  • This visa is valid for 90 days.
  • The French diplomatic office will only require you to present a copy of a booked round-trip flight ticket, instead of buying the actual flight ticket before obtaining the visa. This document must involve information about the airline company, your name and identity details, destinations, flight number, days and hours.
  • A confirming document offering the information that you have at your disposition at least 30,000€ coverage within France and the entire Schengen Area for any of your unanticipated cases of emergency during your stay in the Schengen Area is required.
  • Original bank statements from the last 3 months, to show proof of funds while you are traveling in France is required.
  • Proof of residence in the region where you are applying must be provided. A utility bill and an identification card with that address listed may work as proof of residence.
  • A one or two-page document signed by the applicant, stating the purpose of your visit to France, including the travel program is required. France Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The France student visa is issued to Thais who have the intention of studying in any of the academic institutions in France.
  • If your studies will last less than three months, and you are sure you will not be spending any longer in the country, then you should apply for the court séjour pour étude, otherwise known as the short-stay or Schengen student visa. 
  • The long-stay visa also known as the visa de long séjour pour études or the extended-stay VLT-TS is what you need if you wish to study in France for longer than six months. This visa acts as a residence permit and lasts for the duration of your study period (normally three years for a bachelor’s degree, two years for a master’s program and four years for a Ph.D.).
  • If you need to travel to France in order to sit one or more university entrance exams, you can apply for the visa de court séjour étudiant concours, which simply means a visa for sitting entrance exams. If you sit your exam and pass, you are then eligible to apply for a renewable, one-year residence permit. 
  • An official acceptance letter onto an accredited program at a French institution is required. This should be on officially headed paper, featuring your full details, the details of your program of study and the start and end dates of study.
  • Proof of sufficient funds for living in the country. The current amount required is €615 (US$820) per month, which can be shown with a bank statement, a guarantor’s letter or a notice of funding from a loan, scholarship or grant.
  • Proof of return ticket home is required. Often this is in the form of the actual ticket or reservation showing the date of departure, but can be a handwritten statement of intent, including intended departure dates.
  • Proof of medical insurance is also required (minimum cover €30,000)
  • Proof of accommodation must be provided. This can be in the form of student housing confirmation or a certificate of board and lodging or ‘attestation d’accueil’ (if you’re living with friends or relatives).
  • Proof of proficiency in French is required if you are studying a French-language course.
  • Before initiating the visa application process, ensure that you have been accepted into the institution of your choice.
  • Applicants of this visa must not be less than 18 years of age.
  • Foreigners who intend to study a specialization in France by working as a medical intern during the duration of their studies are eligible to apply for this visa.
  • A copy of the certificates and transcripts obtained from the schools previously attended by applicants is required.

France Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to Thais who have the intention of staying in France temporarily with a family in order to help take care of the family.
  • Applicants of this visa must be between the age of 18 and 30 years.
  • The foreigner must have an au pair placement agreement setting out their working conditions.
  • You must have basic knowledge of the French language to be granted this visa.
  • Applicants of this visa must be educated to the secondary school level or have professional qualifications.
  • A residence permit will be issued to foreigners which will be subject to formalities upon the applicant’s arrival in France.
  • This visa is issued for one year. Your stay as an au pair can be extended to two years.
