Guyana Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Guyana tourist visa is issued to Thais traveling to Guyana for tourism purposes.
  • The Guyana tourist visa is valid for 30 days and is not extendable.
  • Penalties for overstaying are severe; you may be fined or imprisoned if you overstay your visa.
  • If you are traveling for the purpose of exploration, you'll need to have a guide and appropriate vehicle provided by a local agency. Ypu are not allowed to travel independently.
  • The only part of Guyana you can travel independently is Georgetown.
  • Applicants visiting friends/family members should provide a letter of invitation.
  • Vaccinations against malaria, zika virus and dengue fever are required. 
  • Visitors must have in their possession the original/ or copy of the document stating the visa has been granted to show to Immigration upon arrival at Cheddi Jagan International Airport -Timehri.
  • You are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.
  • Travelers should carry and use CDC recommended insect repellents containing either 20 percent DEET, picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus, or IR3535, which will help diminish bites from mosquitoes as well as ticks, fleas, chiggers, etc., some of which may also carry infectious diseases. 

Guyana Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Thais traveling to Guyana for business purposes should apply for the Guyana business visa.
  • This visa is valid for 30 days but can be extended to 90 days. It is a multiple-entry visa.
  • If you are visiting Guyana for a business meeting with another company in Guyana, you require the following documents:
    • Invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in Guyana should be provided. The address of the company and the dates of your visit should be stated in the letter.
    • If the company you are meeting with in Guyana will be responsible for your expenses while you are in the country, it should be stated in the letter.
    • A letter from your employer in Thailand stating awareness and allowance of your business travel for the duration of your time in the country.
    • If the applicant of this visa has been in business with this company before, proof of such events must be provided.
    • Certificate of business registration of your business partner in Guyana is required.
