Application requirements
Documents Thai applicants need to provide.
- A duly completed and signed visa application form.
- An original passport valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of exit from Latvia.
- Copies of your previous passports (if any).
- Two passport-sized photos of size 35mm x 45mm.
- A travel insurance confirmation of a minimum of 30,000 euros coverage within Latvia and the entire Schengen zone.
- A cover letter stating the purpose of your travel to Latvia.
- A flight itinerary with your entry and exit dates and flight number.
- Flight return or onward ticket.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations valid for the duration of stay in Latvia.
- Applicants who intend to stay with a host must submit a document showing the residential address and contact details of the host.
- A certificate of good health showing that the applicant is free from any contagious disease.
- Proof of civil status and ties with the origin country such as a birth or marriage certificate.
- Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Latvia.
- A bank statement for the last 3 months before the application period.

Tourist visa
- A Latvian tourist visa is a visa issued to a foreigner visiting Latvia for tourism, visitation, sight-seeing, and other recreational purposes.
- Thailand citizens who intend to visit friends and relatives in Thailand or vacation can apply for this visa.
- An international passport not older than 10 years with a validity period of three months beyond your exit date in Latvia is required. The passport must have two blank pages for visa stamps.
- Copies of the Latvian tourist visa application form.
- Two recently taken passport photographs not more than a month.
- A letter stating the purpose of your visit to Latvia and the duration of your stay in the country.
- Proof of your employment status and income are required.
- Travel health insurance amounting to 30,000 euros to cover your duration of stay in the country and other Schengen countries.
- Copy of flight reservation.
- Proof of legal residents in your origin country. This could be your utility bills for previous months.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in Latvia.
- Bank statements of the last six months to show proof of sufficient funds to cover expenses while in Latvia.
- Employed applicants are required to submit their letter of appointment, leave letter, payment slips and bank statements for the last six months.
- Self-employed applicants are expected to submit the following documents: Tax Clearance Certificate, Memorandum of Articles of Association, Certificate of Incorporation of Company, Certificate of Registration, Personal Income Certificate, letter of introduction and their personal and business bank statements for the past six months.
- If you are a student you are required to submit an attestation letter from your school stating that the school authority is aware of your absence. The letter may not be needed if the school is on long term vacation.
- Retired applicants are required to show proof of retirement and bank statements of the last six months where their pension is been deposited.
- Minors traveling without their parents are required to submit a consent letter signed by both parents stating that they are aware of your trip. Applicants traveling with one parent are expected to submit a consent letter signed by the absent parent.

Medical visa
- Latvia medical visa is a visa issued to foreigners who intend to get proper medical treatment in Latvia.
- A duly completed and signed medical visa application form is required.
- Latvia short stay medical visa is valid for a duration of 90 days.
- Applicants who intend to stay in Latvia for longer than 90 days to receive medical treatment must apply for a long stay national visa for medical treatments.
- A passport with at least six months validity and blank passport pages for visa stickers must be provided.
- A local medical report from a hospital in Thailand stating the need for the patient transfer to Latvia must be submitted.
- Travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros valid for the period of your stay in Latvia.
- Proof of paid medical fee.
- A medical attestation from the hospital or doctor in Latvia, confirming the date of your appointment as well as your medical situation.

- The Latvian business visa is a short-term Schengen visa issued to foreigners visiting Latvia for business transactions.
- Thailand citizens who intend to attend trade fairs, conferences, business meetings or to sign business deals in Latvia can apply for this visa.
- The Latvian visa allows foreigners to stay and travel within Latvia for a duration of 90 days.
- A duly completed and signed Latvian business visa application form is required.
- A passport with at least three months validity and two blank pages for visa stickers is required.
