Sweden Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Swedish tourist visa is issued to Thais traveling to Sweden for tourism and visitation purposes.
- Sweden is a Schengen country so you can apply for a Schengen visa.
- The visa is valid for 90 days in a period of 180 days.
- A copy of your return-ticket reservation is required, this shows you have the incentive of returning to Thailand.
- A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Sweden and your travel flight itinerary is required. The flight itinerary must include dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Sweden.
- Applicants are required to provide proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Switzerland. This can be in form of a hotel reservation.
- Applicants traveling for visitation purposes are required to provide invitation letters.
- Proof of civil status such as marriage certificate, birth certificate of children etc must be provided.
- You are required to provide proof of confirmed hotel reservation, flight bookings and travel itinerary for the entire duration of your stay in Sweden.
- You must provide proof of your financial ability so as to support yourself financially during your stay in Sweden. Sweden requires visitors to have SEK 450 per day for staying in Sweden.
- Applicants are required to provide a formal statement of their financial situation from their bank for the previous 6 months.
- You must show proof of having individual medical travel insurance that is valid in all the Schengen countries and it must have a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
- It must cover costs for your emergency medical treatment or urgent hospitalization or transportation back to your home country if required and must cover the entire duration of your stay in Sweden.
- The treatment of children is taken very seriously in Sweden. All forms of corporal punishment of children are against the law, and any form of violence, humiliating treatment, or neglect may result in the child being taken away from parents by the Swedish authorities and placed into long-term care by Sweden’s social services.
Sweden Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Swedish business visa is issued to Thais who intend to travel to Sweden for business purposes.
- Issued single Schengen visa applies to the entire Schengen zone member countries. For this reason, once you get a short-stay business visa, you can travel throughout the entire Schengen zone.
- The business visa is also a short-stay visa and permits a stay of no longer than 90 days within a period of 180 days.
- If there exist previous trade relations between your company and the Swedish company, you are required to provide proof of this. This could be bills of lading, customs clearance, receipts of payment or any similar documents.
- It is important to provide business references such as a letter from your employer and an invitation from the Swedish company. The letter must include:
- The full address and contacts of the company.
- Name and position of the countersigning officer.
- Purpose and duration of the visit.
- The person that will bear the travel and living costs and whether the sponsor gives financial guarantee for the visa applicants' return to Thailand.
Sweden Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Thais who intend to travel to Sweden for educational purposes are eligible for the Swedish student visa.
- Visas and residence permits for international students in Sweden depend on the duration of their course study.
- There are two types of Swedish student visa:
- Short-stay student visa: This visa is valid for three months.
- Long-stay student visa: This visa is valid for one year, and it is also extendable.
- If you are applying for the long-stay visa, you are required to also apply for a residence permit.
- If you are the recipient of a scholarship, student aid or similar grant, you are required to provide documents supporting this, showing your name, the monthly amount you are entitled to and the period during which you will receive the fund.
- If you are a doctoral student, you must provide the decision on your admission as a doctoral student with information about the time of admission as well as a certificate with the details of the doctoral studies, issued by the place of study.
- If you are not going to study on a scholarship, you need to pay a portion of the fee before submitting your application for the permit and provide proof of payment.
- Students are required to show proof of financial stability. Students must have at least 90 dollars (540 SEK) for each day of their stay in Sweden.
- You must also provide proof that you have comprehensive health insurance in Sweden. If you have insurance through the school, you are required to send confirmation of this. An admission letter can serve as proof in this case.
- To be eligible for student residence permit, you must require the following:
- You must be admitted to a full-time accredited university for studies in Sweden.
- You must have paid the first installment of the tuition fees for your course of study.
- You must have valid supporting documentation to support your residence permit application.
- You must possess letter of admission from the university that has offered you admission in its course of study.
Sweden Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- To qualify for a work permit, you must have received an official offer of employment from a Swedish employer. The job must also:
- Have been advertised in the EU/EEA for at least ten days.
- Offer terms of employment that match those set by Swedish collective agreements or those that are customary within the occupation or industry.
- Pay a minimum monthly salary of SEK 13,000 before taxes.
