Canada visa requirements for Togoleses

The visitor/tourist visa is issued to Togolese who have the intention of visiting Canada for sightseeing, tourism, and recreation purposes.

A Canadian tourist visa is also known as Canada visitor visa or Canadian Temporary Resident Visa(TRV).

Foreigners who have the intention of engaging in business activities in the country can visit the country on this visa.

Business travellers visiting Canada can attend conferences, business summits, and trade fairs in the country.

People who want to transit through Canada to their destination country are also eligible for this visa.

Applicants visiting friends, family or travelling for business are to provide a letter from their host stating the awareness, purpose and duration of the visit.

The letter should also contain the full contact address of the host.

The visitor's visa can also be extended, to get an extension, you need to apply before the expiration of this visa.

Applicants who are below 18 years are to submit their original birth certificate and a letter of consent from one or both parents.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

Applicants are to submit a travel health insurance that covers their duration of stay.

Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation is mandatory.

Applicants are to submit a proof of medical fitness showing that the applicant is free from all communicable diseases.

Applicants are advised to apply at least 45 days before their proposed journey.

You are required to present the receipt of the paid visa application fee before you can be issued this visa.

The Canadian student visa is issued to Togolese travelling to Canada with the intention of taking up an academic program.

Applicants of this visa need to obtain a study permit before they can start studying. 

The student visa can be renewed once you have a student permit.

Holders of this visa can request an extension on this visa type. The extension must be extended 3 months before the time of expiry of this visa.

A letter of acceptance from the institution that the applicant of this visa has been accepted should be provided.

The letter should state the course to be studied and the duration of the study program.

Proof of medical fitness of the applicant is mandatory.

Bearers of this visa are allowed to work part-time when school is in section and full time during holidays.

Togolese travelling to Canada for employment reasons are the applicants of this visa.

Before initiating the visa application process, the applicant should confirm that he/she has been gainfully employed in Canada. 

Applicants are to be in possession of a work permit before they can be allowed to work in Canada.

A letter of employment should be written on the company’s letterhead should be provided. The letter should state the term of the contract and the position the applicant has been employed to fill.

The employer in Canada should provide proof that the applicant will not be paid below the minimum wage paid to Canadians during the duration of employment.

Proof that there was no Canadian available to take up the job at the time the applicant was offered this job is required.

Applicants are to provide proof of medical fitness showing that the applicant is of good health and is free from all communicable diseases. 

The Canadian work visa can be extended to suit the duration of work but the application for extension must be made before the expiration of the visa.

You will not be issued this visa if you do not have the right qualification that matches the job that you have been offered.

A copy of your resume or CV should be provided.

You must have a good command of the English language before applying for this visa.

Diplomatic visa is issued to top government officials visiting Canada or official basis.

Applicants also require a valid passport.

The official visit to Canada can be to foster bilateral or trade relationships.

The official visit last for the duration of the travel itinerary. 

You will not be granted this visa if your purpose in the country is non-official.

Applicants are to submit a letter to the embassy that contains their official’s name, position and title, place of visit, purpose of travel and duration of stay in Canada.

The official visa cannot be extended.

Only a security check is required for holders of this type of visa. You are allowed to enter the country without going through the regular customs check.
