Iraq visa requirements for Togoleses

The Iraqi tourist visa is issued to Togolese who have the intention of visiting Iraq for sightseeing, relaxation, recreation, and pilgrimage.

This visa is a single-entry visa, and it is valid for 30 days.

Tourist visas to Iraq for individuals need to be applied for in Iraq by an Iraqi sponsor who gives a copy of the passport of the applicant with a responsibility letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department and asks them to send the approval to the closest Iraqi Consulate for the applicant, then the consulate will issue the visa directly.

For groups of 5 people or more, the visa must be applied through the Iraqi tourist companies which are contracted with the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism.

Travellers are required to provide approval reference number that is issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department.

It is important that visitors acquire a residency stamp within their first seven days in the country.  There is a high-cost penalty for visitors who do not obtain the required residency stamp.

Immunization records are required by travellers upon arrival to Iraq.

 Iraq has imposed HIV/AIDS travel restrictions on all visitors and new residents, they must have an HIV blood test during their first seven days in the country or face a fine.

The emergency line in Iraq is “130” from both mobile and fixed-line telephones. Please note that the responder does not speak English.

You are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.

Customs officers have the authority to search travellers and their belongings at Iraqi ports of entry. Officers may confiscate any goods they deem may pose a threat to the peace, security, health, environment, or social order of Iraq. 

Basic, modern medical care and medicines are not widely available in Iraq. Travellers are advised to bring their own medications and have it declared. 

The Iraqi business visa is issued to Togolese travelling with the intention of carrying out business activities.

The Iraqi business visa is issued as a single-entry visa or Multiple-entry visa

Applicants are to submit a letter from their employer in Togo addressed to the Consulate of Iraq stating the nature of the business to be conducted, as well as, the name of the company you will be conducting business with.

An official letter of invitation from your partner company in Iraq written on the company’s letterhead and stating the purpose, and duration of the applicants' visit.

The letter must contain the nature of business to be performed, name and address of reference to be visited, and should state if it is a single or multiple entry that is required.

The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

If the Iraqi company is going to be responsible for your expenses in the country, it should be stated in the invitation letter.

Certificate of business registration of the company you are visiting in Iraq.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicants' duration of stay.

Travel itinerary of the applicant while in Iraq should be submitted.

Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.

Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation should be submitted.

Medical report is required to be submitted for business visa for Iraq for the Tests of CBC, HIV, hepatitis and Vaccination of malaria.

The Transit Visa is issued to Togolese making stopovers in Iraq.

Applicant must have a passport with at least 3 months validity.

With this visa, foreigners can board a connecting flight from an airport in Iraq to their destination country.

This visa also allows its holders to transit through a port in Iran to a third destination.

The visa and other entry permits to the destination country are required.

Flight ticket to your destination country should be submitted.

Holders of this visa are not allowed to work while they are in the country.

You cannot study with the transit visa

Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.

A statement by the applicant indicating that the applicant is aware of the risks involved in the journey and takes full responsibility or any liability arising during or as a result of their trip to Iraq.
