Basic Travel Requirements for Tunisians visiting Botswana

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Botswana Visa.


  • Fully completed visa application form.
  • Certified (notarized) copy of passport page of the applicant (showing names, validity & photograph of bearer)
  • The original passport may be sent at the same time with the application or once the visa is approved
  • If the applicant previously applied for a visa, please attach a copy of the visa outcome.
  • Travel schedule/flight itinerary showing details of activities to be carried out in Botswana, dates of arrival and departure from Botswana.
  • Hotel bookings/reservations serving as proof of accommodation in Botswana.
  • Fingerprints will be captured at the point of entry in Botswana. (Applicants will be required to have their biometrics captured).
  • The passport must have a validity of six months and more with three or more unused visa pages.
  • Applicants who would not be collecting their visas (endorsed in the passport) should write a letter authorizing someone to collect their visa and passport. 
  • The letter should include full names, ID or passport numbers and contact numbers.
  • Minors traveling through the country's borders will be required to produce certified copies of unabridged birth certificate.
  • In the event that one parent is not travelling with the child, the other parent's affidavit consenting to such travel should be availed. 
  • Applicants should know that the visa fee is non-refundable.
  • Allow at least 21 working days for visa processing.
  • All copies of the required documents must be notarized.
  • All supporting documents must be in English. Translated copies must be notarized by a relevant authority.
  • International Health certificate of vaccination for Yellow fever is required from travelers from or through the countries which have been declared Yellow Fever Infected Areas.
  • Tourists are allowed to stay in Botswana for a maximum of 90 days every 12 months, so a 30-day visa may be extended twice. 
  • Visas can be extended for free at immigration offices in Gaborone, Francistown, Maun, and Kasane. Whether you are required to show an onward ticket and/or sufficient funds at this time depends on the official(s).
