Application requirements
Documents Ugandan applicants need to provide.
- A copy of the duly completed and signed application form.
- One colored passport-sized photographs taken with a white background. The head and shoulders of applicants should be visible.
- Valid travel insurance.
- A passport that is still valid for 6 months after exiting from the country. The passport should have one blank page.
- Bank statement which shows that the applicant has sufficient funds to cater for himself/herself throughout the visit in the country. This should not be older than 6 months prior to the visa application.
- Copy of detailed travel itinerary.
- Proof of booked return flight to Uganda.
- Proof of valid hotel booking.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- This visa is issued to foreigners who intend to visit Congo for the purpose of tourism and sightseeing.
- Holders of the tourist visa can also visit friends and family in the country.
- You are to provide an invitation letter from your friends and family in the democratic republic of Congo stating the full addresses and contact details.
- During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
- You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires.
- All tourists are expected to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
- Immunization is recommended against malaria, tetanus and hepatitis B.
- This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.
- Proof of paid visa fees should be provided.
Business visa
- Applicants of this visa are businessmen and businesswomen who intend to visit DR Congo for business purposes.
- Holders of this visa are allowed to meet up with business partners in DR Congo for meetings and to negotiate and sign contracts.
- You can attend conferences and trade fairs with this visa.
- This visa does not allow you to take up paid or unpaid employment during your time in the country.
- Applicants of this visa are to provide a letter of invitation from the company they are meeting within DR Congo. The letter should contain the company address and the duration of the applicant's visit to the country.
- The company’s certificate of business registration is required.
- A letter from your employer in Uganda should be provided. The letter should be a confirmation of your business leave and the duration of your leave should also be stated in the letter.
- If you are traveling with a minor, a letter of consent signed by the minors’ parents should be provided.
- Vaccination against yellow fever is important and compulsory.
- Applicants should ensure they are immunized against hepatitis B, malaria and tetanus.
- You cannot study with this visa.
- Proof of paid visa fees should be provided.
- You are to exit the country before the visa expires.
