  • Ugandan nationals intending to travel to Ghana without obtaining a visa for a stay up to 90 days. 
  • All visitors are required to have purchased return or onward tickets.
  • Visitors aged 16 years old and more are allowed to freely import a moderate amount of tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, alcoholic drinks and wine, perfumes/eau de toilette but gifts are taxable.
  • Due to the outbreak of swine flu, all types of pork and its products are not allowed to enter Ghana.
  • Visitors are required to pay a Traveler Service Charge upon departing from the airport.
  • Cats and dogs must be accompanied by a veterinary certificate of good health and a certificate of vaccination against rabies issued in the home country. 
  • Pets are allowed to enter as visitor's luggage, as cargo, or in the cabin.
  • A visitor's luggage should be cleared at the first airport of entry in Ghana.
  • Visitors are allowed to possess local currency up to those amounts previously permitted to be exported out of the country so long as they are properly recorded in the passport or other travel documents. 
  • There are no restrictions on the possession of foreign currencies at departure provided the imported sums are declared upon arrival on the relevant currency declaration form.
  • Ghana uses the Greenwich Mean Time zone (GMT) making Uganda 3 hours ahead of Ghana.
