How to get a Mali visa from Uganda

• Ugandans who have the intention of visiting Mali for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation and relaxation can apply for the Mali tourist visa.
• There are two types of Mali visa:
• Single-entry visa - valid for one month.
• Multiple-entry visa - valid for three to six months.
• If you have been invited by a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host should be provided. Information on the letter from your host should include your host’s home address and telephone number.
• If you are not staying with a friend or family, a copy of a confirmed hotel reservation is required. If staying in more than one hotel, please provide copies of each hotel reservations.
• You must have a detailed flight itinerary under your name. The itinerary must show the applicant's entry and exit flight plans.
• Holders of this visa can attend events and festivals taking place in the country while they are there.
• Minors traveling with one or none of their parents should provide a letter of consent signed by both parents of the minor. Also, the original copy of the minor’s birth certificate should be submitted.
• Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to the country. Travelers must have a copy of an International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) for yellow fever.
• Mali is not a very safe place for travelers. But if you decide to travel to Mali, here are some safety measures to take:
• Guard your wallets and your passport, whether you are in a crowded, open or deserted place.
• Be careful of thieves and pickpockets.
• Use all the available safety measures. Lock the doors and windows at all times, and set an alarm system.
• If you are asked to stop by the police, make sure you stop at well-lit areas or areas where other police officers are.

• Ugandans transiting through Mali to another destination can apply for this visa.
• Foreigners are required to provide visa and other entry permits to the destination country.
• This visa is valid for 24 hours.
• Holders of this visa are not allowed to work or study while they are in the country.
• A document which shows that foreigners have the incentive of leaving the country should be provided.
• All travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before departing their country. A copy of the International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever is required of the traveler.
• The Mali transit visa cannot be extended.

• The Mali business visa is for Ugandans intending to visit Mali for business purposes.
• A business letter from the sending company in Uganda or the sponsoring company in Mali is required.
• The business letter from the sending company in Kenya must have the following requirements:
• Brief introduction of the applicant (that includes the position held in the company by the applicant).
• Nature of business to be conducted.
• Guarantee of sufficient funds for the travel.

• A letter of invitation written on the company’s letterhead should also be provided. The letter should state the duration and purpose of your visit.
• If the travel expenses of applicants would be taken care of by the company in Mali, it should be stated in the letter provided by the company.
• A letter from your current employer indicating your employment status and position held in the company is needed too. This letter should also state the purpose of your visit to Mali.
• A certificate of business registration of the company in Mali should be submitted with other documents.
• International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever is required.
