Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Hong Kongese Visa.

General Requirements for Hong Kong Visa

Hong Kong Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Tourists intending to visit Hong Kong for tourism, sightseeing or other leisure activities are eligible to apply for the tourist visa.
- With Hong Kong tourist visa, you can visit family and friends.
- Your passport must be valid for 6 months from your intended departure from Hong Kong.
- A visa application form must be fully completed and signed before submission. You are advised to crosscheck for any errors and adhere strictly to the submission guideline so as not to delay the processing of your visa application.
- You are to attach a passport-size photograph on page 1 of the visa application form.
- You are required to make a clear coloured photocopy of the bio-data page of your passport (that is, the first page of your passport showing your personal details, date of issue and expiry of the passport).
- You must provide proof that you can cater to your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Hong Kong by sending copies of your bank account statements from the last six months. You can also submit a sponsorship letter if someone else intends to sponsor your trip along with copies of your sponsor's bank statements.
- A proof of your employment signed by you and your employer stating your role in the company and your salary.
- A travel itinerary with up to date exit and entry dates.
- If you are travelling your tourism/leisure, you should provide a copy of your travel itinerary or proof that you are joining a tour.
- If you are visiting family, you are to submit proof of your relationship with your host in Hong Kong.
- The tourist visa does not permit its holder to take up paid/unpaid employment or start a business in Hong Kong.
- The tourist visa also does not permit its holder to enrol in a school.
Hong Kong Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Hong Kong for business purposes.
- Hong Kong business visa does NOT permit its holder to take up paid/unpaid employment while in Hong Kong.
- The business visa, however, allows its holder to conclude contracts, submit tenders, examine or supervise the installation/packaging of goods or equipment.
- Holders of this type of visa are permitted to attend trade fairs and exhibitions.
- With the business visa, you may attend short-term business summits or other business meetings and settle compensations or other civil proceedings.
- While the business visa allows you to attend an event to deliver speech(es) or presentation(s), it does not permit you to be paid for speaking or presenting at the event (other than provision of accommodation, passage, meals, etc. relating to the event, or the reimbursement of such expenses).
- A visa application form must be fully completed and signed before submission. You are advised to crosscheck for any errors and adhere strictly to the submission guideline so as not to delay the processing of your visa application.
- A proof of your employment (employment contract, bank account statements of the last six months, Income Tax Return) but also provide a leave letter excusing you from work for the entire duration you intend to stay in Hong Kong.
- You are also required to obtain a letter of invitation from the partner company/organisation in Hong Kong. This letter must state the purpose of your visit and who will take care of all your expenses (your company or the partner company) while in Hong Kong.
- If there exist previous trade relations between your company and the partner company in Hong Kong, you should provide proof of this. This could be bills of lading, customs clearance, receipts of payment or any similar documents.
- If you are attending a trade fair or exhibition, you must submit a letter issued by a trade body to confirm your attendance at such an event.
Hong Kong Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Foreign citizens who intend to travel to Hong Kong to study require a student visa.
- You would need a local sponsor who could sponsor your education. This sponsor could be an educational institution you are applying to or a resident who is financially capable of sponsoring your education.
- Your educational institution or University might help you find a local sponsor for you. In this case, ‘Declaration by Financial Sponsor’ form should be completed, signed and submitted for further process.
- You must have received an admission offer from a school in Hong Kong before you can apply for a student visa.
- You are required to fully complete and sign a visa application form with a passport-size photograph. An incomplete application form may delay the processing of your visa application.
- A photocopy of your passport's bio-data page is required.
- You must also submit a photocopy of your letter of admission from a university in Hong Kong and your letter of acceptance to the specific course.
- You should also submit a photocopy of your academic result along with transcripts, awards and certificates.
- If the school require that you write IELTS or a TOEFL, then you must provide proof of these qualifications.
- You must provide proof that you can cater to your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Hong Kong (that means you have approximately HK$120,000) by sending copies of your bank account statements from the last six months. You can also submit a sponsorship letter if someone else intends to sponsor your trip.
- If you are the recipient of a scholarship, student aid or similar grant, you are required to provide documents supporting this, showing your name, the monthly amount you are entitled to and the period during which you will receive the fund.
- You are required to provide proof of accommodation for the entire duration of your stay in Hong Kong. You can submit an undertaking by your local host to provide you accommodation.
Hong Kong Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Citizens of Vietnam who intend to visit Hong Kong for employment purposes are eligible for this type of visa.
- The work visa is also given to skilled professionals who seek employment in Hong Kong.
- Documents to prove you have no criminal record.
- The applicant must show proof of the same through degree in the relevant field, achievements, technical qualifications, work experience, etc
- A valid passport is valid for at least for six months.
- A copy of employment contract confirming the status of your employment.
- Travel insurance that covers you during the duration of stay.
