Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Egyptian Visa.
- A completely filled and signed visa application form for Egypt.
- Passport photo not older than 6 months.
- Original passport or travel document with at least 6 months remaining validity on the date of travel.
- It must have at least 2 consecutive visa pages clear of any markings.
- Travel itinerary (travel reservation to and from Egypt in your name).
- Flight reservations to Egypt and return ticket.

General Requirements for Egypt Visa

Egypt Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to Zambians who wish to go to Egypt for business purposes.
- This visa can be used to attend seminars, conferences and to sign negotiation contracts.
- You can also meet with business partners and attend meetings while in Egypt.
- This visa allows you to stay in Egypt for 30 days and you are expected to exit the country on or before the expiration of your visa.
- Your passport must not be frayed, torn, separated, or altered in any other way or you will be denied of this visa.
- You must provide two colored passport-type photographs that must have been taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper.
- You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes.
- Your photos must not be affixed to your application and it should not display evidence of adhesive tape or staples.
- You are to submit a business cover letter from the Egyptian based company.
- All letters are to be printed on the company's letterhead and must display an Egyptian address.
- Include two copies of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates to and from Egypt and must show your full name (as printed in your passport).
- You are to also submit a letter written by your employer in Zambia on the company's letterhead stating that you will be returning to your present job.
- The cover letter should state their awareness of your leave, purpose, and duration of stay.
- You are to submit an official invitation letter from the Egyptian company you are meeting stating the purpose and duration of your visit to Egypt.
- Proof of financial sufficiency of the applicant for their entire duration of stay should be submitted.
- If your finances will be taken care of by your employer or the partner company, it should be clearly stated in the letter of invitation.
- Proof of previous business dealings between the Tanzania company and the Egyptian company should be submitted.
- Proof of registration and receipt of paid fees for the registration of the conference should be made available for those who intend to attend conferences in Egypt.
- A certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting in Egypt should be provided.
- Applicants who own their own businesses should provide a copy of their income tax return for the last six months.
- Receipt of payment of visa application fees is to be also submitted.
- International Certificate of Vaccination of Yellow Fever should be provided by the applicant.
- Applicants are advised not to make non-refundable expenses until their visa application is granted.
- You are to leave Egypt at the expiration of your visa.
Egypt Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Persons who want to travel to Egypt for tourism, sightseeing, leisure and family and friends visitation are the eligible candidates of this visa.
- If you will be visiting someone in Egypt, a letter of invitation from your host in Egypt is to be submitted.
- The letter should contain information which includes the host’s home address, telephone number, and a valid means of identification.
- Foreigners on this visa cannot take up any form of employment and are not to receive payment for any service rendered while in the country.
- You are also not to seek public funds throughout your stay in Egypt.
- You can not attend seminars, conferences or take up an internship in Egypt with this visa type.
- The processing time for this visa is 7 working days.
- Employed applicants are to present a letter from their employer which states their position in the company, the duration of their employment, as well as the duration of their leave.
- Retired persons should possess a pension statement or documents showing other financial support from the last 6 months.
- For non-Tanzanian applicants of this visa, a copy of their residence permit in Tanzania is to be submitted.
- Minors traveling without their parents or with one of their parents are required to submit a copy of a letter of consent signed by both parents.
- The original copy of their birth certificate is to be also provided.
- You are to present a document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to Tanzania at the expiration of your visa.
- You are advised to be immunized against Malaria, Typhoid, and Hepatitis A and B and tender a certificate of vaccination to the consulate.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee is also to be submitted. You are to also provide proof of hotel reservation or accommodation.
- You should also submit your travel itinerary.
- Travel insurance that covers your entire duration of stay in Egypt is also important.
Egypt Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for those who wish to transit through Egypt to another country.
- This visa is valid for up to 12 hours.
- Flight tickets and visas for the next and final destination are to be provided.
- You are to leave Egypt on or before the expiration of this visa.
- You are not permitted to work or study while you are in Egypt on this visa.
- You are not to leave the airport transit area in the airport under any circumstance.
- You are to provide proof of payment of the visa application fees.
- Minors who are holders of this visa type are to submit an original copy of their birth certificate.
- This visa can not be extended for any reason.

Is there a limit to the amount I can take into Egypt?
Yes, there is a restriction on the amount to be possessed by visitors in Egypt. The maximum amount that can be taken into Egypt is $10,000.

I want to stay in Egypt for 30 days and I have to spend about U$ 600 on daily basis, so U$ 10000 are not enough for my short visit
Can I drink tap water in Egypt?
In Cairo, tap water is heavily chlorinated and relatively drinkable, but elsewhere it is unsafe for drinking. Bottled water is cheap and readily available in even the smallest towns, but consider using iodine or a Steripen to reduce the use of plastic bottles, especially if you are on a longer trip.
Is Egypt safe for tourists?
Egypt is safe for touriats if certain precautions are taken. Currently, tourists are advised to avoid visiting the Sinai Peninsula (except Sharm El-Sheikh), and also not to go too deep into the desert, especially without an escort.
