Basic Travel Requirements for Cameroonians visiting Egypt

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Egyptian Visa.

  • A Cameroonian passport valid for at least six months from the intended date of arrival into Egypt. The passport should have at least two blank space and must not be torn or altered in any way.
  • A completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Recent four passport-size photographs (2 x 2 cm) taken on a white background.
  • Travel document should be completely provided during the visa application.
  • The Bank statement from the previous three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof that you are able to take care of yourself during your time in Egypt.
  •  A travel insurance which has sufficient coverage and is valid for the length of your stay in Egypt.
  • A proof of hotel reservation or accommodation for the period of stay in the country.
  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
  • Onward or  return flight ticket to your home country is required to prove your intention of returning back.
  • A copy of travel itinerary.

Egypt is a country which is very rich in history and culture. Egypt is known to have a lot of pyramids with most of them being tombs for the Egyptian pharaohs. The pyramids found at Giza are considered to be the most popular pyramids in Egypt. The largest pyramid is the ‘Pyramid of Khufu’ at Giza, it is the only one of the seven wonders of the world which still exists. Tourists in the country can visit museums to see ancient Egyptian antiquities or take a ride through the safari on a camel’s back or a jeep. Whatever you want to do during your time in Egypt, it definitely is great fun.
 
The tourism industry in Egypt is a leading aspect to the economic growth in Egypt. In 2010, Egypt played host to 14.7 million tourists and contributed more than 11%of the country’s GDP. From then on, the number of tourist visits in the country has been on the rise and it is expected to keep rising for the foreseeable future.
 
Travelers into Egypt are not allowed to enter or leave Egypt with more than $10,000 or its equivalent in any currency. People caught in any homosexual act are subject to 10 years imprisonment. Avoid drinking alcohol in public places, you could be arrested if seen doing so. The Egyptian government is not against the practice of Christianity but trying to convert someone to the Christian faith is illegal.

General Requirements for Egypt Visa

Egypt Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The business visa is for foreigners who intend to engage in business activities while in the country.
  • Holders of this visa are allowed to meet up with business partners, sign contracts and agreements.
  • Applicants should have a passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Egypt with at least one blank page available for Egyptian visa stamp. Amendment pages at the back of the passport are not suitable for the visa stamp.
  • Two copies of a business cover letter printed on the company letterhead from the company you are working with in Cameroon.
  • The cover letter should state their awareness of your leave, purpose and duration of stay.
  • A copy of the letter of invitation from the company the applicant is visiting is required. The letter addressed to the Consulate with the company letterhead must include the name of the applicant, state the purpose of visit, bear the stamp of the inviting company and their signature.
  • You are to provide a proof of your financial sufficiency, which shows your ability to cover your expenses during the duration of your stay.
  • If your finances will be taken care of by your employer or the partner company, it should be clearly stated in the letter of invitation.
  • Any previous business dealings between the Egyptian country and the Cameroon country should be declared.
  • A proof of registration and receipt of paid fees for the registration of the conference should be made available for those who intend to attend conferences in Egypt.
  • A certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting with should be provided.
  • Applicants who own their own business should provide a copy of their income tax return for the last six months.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fees is required.
  • You are to provide evidence of your intention to return to Cameroon at the expiration of your visa.
  • International Certificate of Vaccination of yellow fever should be provided by the applicant.
  • Applicants are advised not to make the non-refundable expenses until their visa application is granted.
  • Applicants are not allowed to overstay the length of their visa. Consequences may be incurred. 

Egypt Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonians with the intention of visiting Egypt to engage in sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation are eligible for this visa.
  • Travellers who want to visit friends and relatives in Egypt can do so with this type of visa.
  •  A letter of invitation from your host in Egypt is required if you intend to stay with a host. The letter should include information about the host’s home address, telephone number, and a valid means of identification.
  • Holders of this visa type cannot take up a course to study in any of the institutions in the country.
  • Applicants are to submit a passport that has a minimum validity of six months from the date of departure.
  • The Egyptian tourist visa has a validity of 90 days.
  • The Egyptian tourist visa has two types;
  • The single and multiple entry visas and has a validity of six months from the date of issuance. 
  • The single-entry visa has duration of stay for 60 days.
  • While multiple-entry visa has a duration for 90 days.  
  • The processing time for this visa is 8 working days.
  • Employed applicants are required to present a letter from their employer which states their position in the company, the duration of their employment, as well as the duration of their leave.
  • Retired persons should possess a pension statement or documents showing other financial support from the last 6 months.
  • For non-Cameroonians applying for this visa, a copy of their residence permit in Cameroon is required.
  • Children under 16 years old travelling without their parents or with one of their parents are required to have a copy of a letter of consent signed by both parents. The original copy of their birth certificate should also be provided during the visa application.
  • Cameroonians are expected to present a document which shows they have the intention of returning to their home country at the expiration of their visa.
  • Travellers are advised to be immunized against malaria, typhoid and hepatitis A and B before they can gain entry.
  • A proof of hotel reservation or accommodation should be submitted whether you intend to stay with a host or at a hotel. 
  • Travel itinerary which states up-to-date flight date for entry and exit should be submitted.
  • An insurance covering the applicants during their duration of stay should be submitted.
  • While you are in the country, you cannot receive payment for the services you render or any work you engage in. 
  • Cameroonians are prohibited from seeking public funds while in Egypt. 
  • Pets(dogs and cats) must be microchipped and vaccinated for rabies, you have to complete the Egypt Veterinary certificate. 
  • Vaccinations have to administered 30 days before travel. 

Egypt Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonians who are making short stops in Egypt can do so with this visa.
  • If your stay in the country is less than 12 hours, you do not need to apply for a transit visa.
  • Foreigners are allowed to transit through Egypt to their destination country with this visa.
  • Applicants are required to have the flight ticket of their destination country to show their intention to return back home. 
  • You are required to have the visa of your destination country.
  • Holders of this visa are not permitted to work or study while they are in the country.
  • A receipt of your payment for the visa application fee is required.
  • Minors should ensure they have an unabridged original copy of their birth certificate.
  • The duration of this visa cannot be extended.
