Basic Travel Requirements for Cameroonians visiting Honduras

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Honduran Visa.

  • A valid passport which has a validity of more than 6 months from the intended departure date. The passport must have at least one blank page for entry or visa stamp.
  • You are to submit a fully completed visa application form which has been signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs taken with a white background. The passport should show the full face and must follow the photo specification of a visa application.
  • A original bank statement from the past three months prior to visa application.
  • A valid travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in Italy.
  • A confirmed accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
  • A copy of return flight ticket and travel itinerary with up-to-date flight departure and arrival date. 
  • A copy of an onward  and return ticket. 
  • A cover letter that explains the applicant's purpose and duration of travel.
  • A evidence to support your financial sufficiency to take care of your expenses during the duration of your stay. 
  • A certificate of yellow fever vaccination

Facts about Honduras

Due to the dangerous image that Honduras has, a lot of tourists previously hurriedly passed through the country. Tourists these days are starting to take a second look at the country and deservedly so. This is no small part due to the magnificent landscape of the country. Honduras has the second largest rainforest in the Americas and the second-largest barrier reef in the world, numerous white and dark sand beaches, flora and fauna and archeological sites. Nature reserves in the country also attract tourists. These nature reserves have over 400 species of birds, about 250 reptiles and amphibians, and 110 species of mammals. Honduras is definitely worth visiting.

In 2017, over 2 million tourists visited Honduras which resulted in a net spend of more than $700 by tourists. A lot of initiatives have been introduced to realize the goal of a one million annual increase in the number of tourists visit. Safety concerns are also being addressed, there has been a 52 percent reduction in violence in the last five years.
 
On entry into the country, travelers must declare any amount of $10,000 or its equivalent. Travelers must also declare any amount over $10,000 or its equivalent on exit from the country. There are strict regulations on the import of items such as vehicles, medications, firearms, and business equipment. Stay clear of drug trafficking and drug use.

Honduras Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonians who wish to visit Honduras for leisure and tourism purposes can apply for a tourist visa.
  • A Honduras tourist visa is valid for 90 days. 
  • This visa can be issued on a single and double entry basis.
  • The single-entry visa allows foreigners to gain entry into Honduras only once. 
  • While a double entry visa allows foreigners to gain entry into Honduras twice. 
  • Cameroonians invited to the country by their friends and relatives can travel to the country using this visa.
  • Travelers who have been invited to the country by their friends or relatives are required to provide a letter of invitation from their host. The contact information of the host and a valid means of identification of the host should be provided.
  • Travelers who are granted a tourist visa can also attend and participate in the local events and festivals taking place in Italy.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer written on the company’s letterhead, confirming employment, stating the terms of the employment contract, and the job position being held by the applicant is required.
  • Travelers who are not citizens of Cameroon have to provide a copy of their stay permit in Cameroon.
  • Minors should ensure they provide the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate. If the minor is traveling alone or with one parent, a notarized consent signed by both parents is required.
  • A document which shows you have the intention of returning to the country should be submitted during the visa application process.
  • A payment proof of your visa application fees should be provided at the Embassy or consulate. 
  • Foreigners in Honduras on this visa are not allowed to engage in business activities or work.
  • Overstaying on a Honduras tourist visa is an offence. 
  • A certificate of yellow fever vaccination is required from Cameroonians visiting Honduras. 
  • Travelers are to declare any amount over $10,000. 
  • Any foreigner entering Honduras with pets(cats and dogs) are expected to provide a veterinarian health certificate.  

Honduras Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonians who are business-savvy individuals can apply for this visa. These people have the intention of engaging in various business activities in Honduras.
  • Foreigners during their business meetings with the partners in the country can negotiate and sign business contracts.
  • Those who have applied for a business visa can also attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits during their country.
  •  You will need to register and obtain a permit from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Honduras if you are going to attend a conference during your stay in Honduras.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer in Cameroon stating they were aware of the business leave taken and continuing employment after the duration of the leave is required. The purpose and duration of the leave should be stated in the letter.
  • An official letter of invitation from the applicant’s partner company on Honduras signed by an authorized signatory of the company is to be provided. The letter should state the duration and purpose of the applicant’s trip.
  • Self-employed applicants are to submit their Certificate of Business Registration and a copy of Income Tax Return of the company is required.
  • If the host company in Honduras or your employer is going to be your sponsor during your period of stay in Italy, it should be stated in the business letter.
  • A proof of any previous dealings with the company you are meeting with should be presented at the Embassy or consulate. 
  • Receipt of payment of visa application fee should be provided.
  • Cameroonians should have proof that they have the intention of returning to their country at the expiration of their visa.
  • The Ministry of foreign affairs of Honduras has to authorize the granting of this type of visa
