Basic Travel Requirements for Cameroonians visiting Italy
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Italian Visa.
- An Original Cameroonian passport which is valid for 6 months from the intended date of exit from the country. The passport should have two blank pages for a stamp and to affix the visa.
- A duly completed visa application form. The application form should be signed and stamped where necessary.
- Two identical passport-sized photographs taken with a white background which follows the visa application specification(35mmx45mm). The photograph must not be older than 6 months from the time of application.
- Original copies of your bank statement for the last three months prior to the date of application for the visa. This is proof that you have sufficient funds to cater for yourself while you are in the country.
- A valid travel insurance which has a coverage of €30,000 for medical insurance.
- A copy of hotel reservation for the duration of your stay in France.
- Return or onward flight ticket is to be submitted.
- A copy of travel itinerary.

General Requirements for Italy Visa

Italy Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Cameroonians who are visiting Italy for the purpose of sightseeing, relaxation, and recreation need an Italian tourist visa.
- Bearers of this visa can also attend events and festivals asides recreation activities.
- You can visit your friends and relatives who reside in Italy with this type of visa.
- If you have invited to Italy by your friends or relatives, you will need an invitation letter from their host. The letter should have the home address and telephone number of their host in the country.
- During the visa application process, you are expected to submit a passport with a validity of 6 months from the date of departure.
- Holders of this visa are not permitted to study in any higher institutions of learning. If you intend to study a course, you will have to apply for a student visa.
- Employed Cameroonians are required to provide a letter from their employer. The letter should indicate that your employer in your home country is aware of your leave.
- A travel insurance with a minimum value of 30,000 euros should be submitted.
- If you plan to stay with a friend who resides in Italy or make hotel reservations, documents which states whether you are staying with a host or at a hotel must be submitted.
- A proof of your financial sufficiency to cover your expenses during the duration of your stay should also be submitted. The evidence can include a bank certification, bank books, personal bank statements, credit statements or balance covering the period of last six months.
- If your trip expenses are going to be sponsored by another person, a sponsorship letter is to be written and presented at the Embassy. It is also called an Affidavit of Support.
- A copy of the applicant's travel itinerary which up-to-date with flight departure and return dates is one of the requirement during the visa processing.
- Those who are going to stay with a host are expected to provide proof of their relationship with the host.
- If you are not from Cameroon, you are required to present a copy of your Cameroon stay permit during the visa application process.
- The original copy of minors’ birth certificate is required. If they are not travelling with their parents, a letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided.
- A document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to Cameroon is required.
- Applicants should ensure they have the receipt of paid visa application fees.
Italy Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- When you are travelling to Italy for business purposes i.e visiting a business/company to have meetings, to make business deals, to recruit, to train or other similar activities, you are to apply for an Italian business visa.
- Italian business visa holders can also attend trade fairs, conferences, and business summits while they are in Italy.
- Your business partner in Italy should provide a letter of invitation. The letter should contain the company’s address and state the purpose of your visit to the country.
- If your business partner in Italy is going to be responsible for your expenses, it should be stated in the letter of invitation from the company.
- The letter from your employer in Cameroon should state they are aware of your business leave and submitted at the Embassy. The duration and purpose of your visit to the country should be clearly stated.
- If you had any previous business dealings with the company you are meeting, the documents indicating that should be provided if any. This may be in the form of signed contracts or payslips.
- A copy of certificate of business registration of your business partner in Italy is required.
- Travellers are to provide health insurance that covers their duration of stay or its equivalent of 30,000 euros.
- For private business owners or self-employed applicants, a copy of their Income Tax Return(ITR) form or certificate of income tax deducted from salary should be submitted at the Embassy during the visa application process.
- A proof of hotel reservation or accommodation that covers applicants duration of stay should be submitted.
- Holders of a business visa are not allowed to engage in any paid work or get paid for the services they render while you are in Italy.
- Cameroonians who have granted an Italian business visa cannot seek public funds while in the country.
- Non-Cameroonians are expected to have a copy of their stay permit before a visa approval is granted
- A cover letter should be written by the applicant and presented at the Embassy. The letter should indicate your name and designation, travel dates, itinerary, duration of stay, details on trip's sponsor, purpose of visit, and signed by an authorized person.
Italy Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Eligible applicants for this visa are those seeking medical attention in Italy which cannot be gotten in their home country.
- A letter written by a local doctor stating your diagnosis and the reason why treatment is best administered in Italy and the duration of the treatment is needed to process your visa.
- Your doctor in Italy has to write a letter which states that he has accepted to take up the treatment. The letter should state in details the nature of the treatment and the intended time of recovery.
- You are to submit a passport that was issued within the last ten years and should have a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of travel.
- Two identical and recent passport photographs not older than 3 months are to submitted at the Embassy or Consulate.
- A proof of health insurance that has a minimum value of 30,000 euros should be submitted.
- If you are employed, a letter from your employer is required. Your employer should state in the letter that he is aware of your leave. Your position and how long you have been employed in the company should be clearly stated.
- You have to show evidence of your medical fees at the Embassy during the visa application.
- If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
- Holders of this visa can not take up any paid job or employment in Italy.
- You are expected to leave the country at the end of your treatment and at the expiration of your medical visa.
- If you gain entry with a medical visa, you are not allowed to take up permanent residency in the country.
- An official confirmation letter of your treatment or appointment by the receiving medical institution is required.
Italy Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The transit visa permits Cameroonians to transit through Italy to their destination country.
- The foreigners are required to have their visa and flight ticket of your destination country while processing their transit visa.
- If you are under the age of 18 years, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
- Convicted foreigners or applicants with criminal records may not be granted approval on their visas or even gain entry.
- A copy of payment slip of your visa application fee is required.
- You are not allowed to study or take up paid or unpaid employment during your time in the country.
- The visa is valid for 5 days.
- You are required to exit or leave the country before the expiry of your visa.
- The Italian transit visa is not extendable.
Italy Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa type is for Cameroonian students who intend to study or have been accepted to study in a school in Italy.
- The Italian student visas are subdivided into two types depending on your study program.
- The short-stay visa or travel visa is valid for one or more entries and for a period not exceeding 90 days.
- While the long-stay visa is for a long-stay in Italy for students for more than 90 days.
- Your letter of admission from the institution you have been offered admission is required. The letter will prove that you can attend lectures and write exams at school.
- You are to submit certificates and transcripts of the schools you have previously attended during the visa application process.
- Applicants that are not Cameroonians are required to show a copy of their Cameroonian stay permit during the visa application process.
- Holders of this visa are allowed to work part-time when school is in session and full-time when they are on break.
- This visa is extendable. The extension will be granted to cover the duration of the period of study in Italy.
- If you are a minor travelling without your parents, a letter of consent signed both your parents should be provided. Also, an unabridged original copy of your birth certificate is required.
- You are not allowed to seek public funds while you are in Italy.
- The visa costs €60.
- Student visas are to issued by an Italian embassy and consulate in your home country or permanent residence.
- Students must register with Questura(police station), to obtain a residence permit.
- You are excepted to start the application process before your intended date of entry.
