Basic Travel Requirements for Cameroonians visiting Thailand
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Thai Visa.
- A Cameroonian passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date and must have one blank page for visa stamp.
- A fully completed and signed Thailand visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Passport-size photographs (35 x 45 mm).
- Travel document confirming the applicant purpose of visit
- Original bank statement of the applicant showing a balance of at least $1,000 per person or $2,000 per family during the past 6 months.
- A proof of financial sufficiency to sponsor themselves during the duration of stay.
- A copy of travel itinerary.
- A copy of return flight ticket to prove the applicant of returning back to his/her home country.

General Requirements for Thailand Visa

Thailand Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Thailand tourist visa is issued to Cameroonians who are visiting Thailand for the purpose of sightseeing, personal enlightenment, recreation, and relaxation.
- Those also eligible for this type of visa are those who intend to travel for medical purposes or seeking medical treatment.
- You are expected to have a passport valid for at least 6 months after the intended departure date. It is also recommended that your valid passport have at least one remaining unused pages for any necessary entry and exit stamps that may be issued.
- Travelers are required to bring one passport-sized (4 x 6 cm) photograph during the visa processing.
- The Thailand tourist visa is divided into two types;
- Single-entry tourist visa has a validity of about three months. With this visa, you will be given an initial 60 days in Thailand starting from your date of entry, but you can extend for another 30 days.
- Multiple-entry tourist visa is valid for six months. With this visa, you can exit and enter Thailand as many times as you would like during the visa’s six-month validity. Since you are allowed to come and go as many times as you would like, you can get a total of 270 days on the visa.
- The validity of a tourist visa is from 90 days to 180 days. If you arrived in Thailand through an international airport, you will be stamped a 30 or 60-day permission of stay. Generally, the amount of time you can stay in Thailand on a tourist visa depends on which type of visa you have, but you will get either 30, 60, or 90 days before extensions.
- However, the tourist visa can also be extended if you wish or need to stay longer in Thailand. You will have to file an application for an extension of stay at the Office of Immigration Bureau in Thailand.
- Experts and foreigners are required to show a proof of their financial sufficiency to cover their expenses during the duration of their stay in Thailand. Applicants are to have at least 20,000 baht per person or 40,000 baht per family.
- Currency exchanges are available near the Visa on Arrival sections in the airports. No ATMs are available, so make sure you have THB or at least some form of major currency such as Dollars or Euros on you.
- You are to provide your certificate of vaccination for these types of sickness; hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, and meningitis during the your visa processing.
- Holders of this visa travelling with their life partners are not to show public affection in Thailand. It is greatly frowned on.
- Aside from proof of funds, if you are applying for a visa on arrival, you will have to show proof of onward travel; for example, a plane ticket dated no later than 15 days from your date of entry into Thailand.
Thailand Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Thailand business visa allows business-minded Cameroonians to start-up or conduct business and work in Thailand.
- The validity of this visa is a minimum of 90 days.
- Those who are applying for this type of visa and have worked previously in Thailand are expected to provide a copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour.
- Applicants must submit a copy of educational records of the applicant and letters of recommendation from the prior employers, identifying the job description and length of service time during the visa processing.
- Thailand’s continuous economic progress can be attributed to the presence of sufficient infrastructure and an efficient workforce, backed by strong support from the government.
- Foreigners who wish to set up or conduct business in Thailand should apply for a Thai Non-Immigrant B visa which has two categories;
- The 90 Days Non-Immigrant Visa (Single-Entry) is an initial visa issued by the Thai embassy or consulate in your home country which allows a stay of 90 consecutive days in Thailand. Single-entry visa allows its holders to enter or gain entry into Thailand once.
- While the 1-Year Non-Immigrant Visa (Multiple-Entry) is issued to those who want to conduct business and intend to frequently travel in and out of Thailand. The initial non-immigrant visa can be extended to this visa once the work permit is processed. Multiple-entry visa allows its holders to gain entry into Thailand multiple times or more than once.
- Applicants travelling for the purpose of attending a business meeting require the following documents:
- A business letter written in your company’s letterhead is required and stating the duration and purpose of visit.
- A printed flight and hotel reservation under the applicant's name. It must show flights' entry and exit from Thailand.
- A copy of your bank statement is needed. Photocopy of the applicant's most recent bank statement as proof of sufficient funds ($700 per person - single entry and $7000 for multiple entries).
Thailand Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Cameroonians who intend to study to study in one of the institutions of learning in Thailand are eligible applicants for this visa.
- The visa is also known as an education visa.
- Holders of this visa can attend training sessions, cooking classes, martial arts classes, participate in projects or seminars, or study as a foreign Buddhist monk.
- The student visa also allows foreigners to undertake skilled work or to work as an expert or a specialist.
- The Thailand student visa has two types;
- Single-entry visa allows applicants to gain entry into Thailand for a period of 3 months.
- Multiple-entry visa allows applicants to gain entry into multiple entries and is valid for one year.
- A letter of acceptance from the academic institution you have been accepted to is to be submitted to the Embassy. The letter should be written on the institution's letterhead and should state the course you have been accepted to.
- Certificates and transcripts of previously attended institutions by the applicants of this visa.
- Foreign students are allowed to work part-time for a period of up to 20-hours per week when school is in session and full-time when school is on break.
- Qualified applicants can obtain an additional one-year stay permit counting from the date of entry in the country pertaining to the Office of the Immigration Bureau’s regulation on the extension of stay.
- Cameroonians are to provide evidence of financial stability. Students should have 15,000 – 25,000 Baht monthly. (Equivalent to 390 – 650 Euros).
Thailand Journalist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Cameroonians who are intending to work as a film producer, journalist, or reporter are eligible for this type of visa.
- A letter of invitation from the company you will be working with in Thailand. The letter should state the duration and purpose of the applicant’s visit to the country.
- A letter from your employer in Cameroon stating the purpose and duration of your visit to the country. The name of the company and the job position should be stated in the letter.
- If you are travelling with a minor, the original copy of your birth certificate is required. A notarized consent signed by both the parents of the applicant is required.
- Single-entry and multiple-entry visas are valid for three months. The multiple-entry visas could also be valid for one year.
- This visa can be extended for an additional one-year stay counting from the date of entry in the country.
- Foreigners should ensure they are vaccinated against yellow fever before they travel to the country.
- A copy of the applicant’s stay permit in Cameroon is required.
- A proof of payment of paid visa application form should be presented at the Embassy.
Thailand Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Foreigners who intend to board a connecting flight from Thailand to their destination country are eligible for this visa.
- Cameroonians can also join up with a crew ship at a seaport in Thailand.
- The Transit Visa does not allow foreigners to take up paid or unpaid employment while they are in the country.
- Applicants of this visa cannot take up short courses in Thailand.
- A receipt to show proof of paid visa application form is required.
- Visa and other entry permits of the destination country should be provided.
- Applicants are expected to provide a flight ticket to the destination country.
- This visa cannot be extended.
- Applicants are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever and submit proof of same to the Embassy.
