Basic Travel Requirements for Congoleses visiting Ireland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Irish Visa.


  • An international DR Congo passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Ireland.
  • Passport photographs taken with the last 6 months against a white background.
  • A completed and signed Ireland visa application form.
  • The passport photograph must be attached to the visa application form, and a copy of the payment confirmed page or receipt.
  • Bank statements showing evidence of sufficient funds must be provided.
  • Bank statements should include the most recent transactions for the account up to the date of the application and, must be original, must show current address and must show the availability of sufficient funds to cover the costs of the proposed trip
  • Police report showing that the applicant has ever been involved in any criminal activity in Ireland.
  • A copy of confirmed copy itinerary showing date o entry and exit from Ireland.
  • Evidence of the applicant’s permission to reside in DR Congo (stamp, sticker or residence card) if the applicant is not a citizen of DR Congo.
  • If the applicant will be staying in a hotel, a hard copy of the confirmation of the reservation, including details of the accommodation (address), name and the exact dates of the stay.
  • Minor’s original birth certificate showing the names of both parents should be provided.
  • The written consent of both parents for the child to travel or original court order in the case of sole guardianship. 
  • Original or certified copies photo id for both parents, as named on the birth certificate, which includes their signatures.
