Application requirements
Documents Egyptian applicants need to provide.
- Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
- Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
- Bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.
- Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
- Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Travel itinerary.

Tourist visa
- Foreign nationals who are traveling to Costa Rica for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
- Egyptians who have been invited to the country by their family and friends living in the country are eligible for this visa.
- If you are honoring an invitation from your family or relative, a letter of invitation is required. The letter must state the relationship between the applicant and the host and must also contain the duration of the applicant’s visit.
- Holders of this visa are allowed to attend festivals and events taking place in the country.
- Applicants who are employed are required to provide a letter from their employer. The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must contain the valid contact information of the company.
- Foreigners are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment while they are in the country.
- If the applicant of this visa is under the age of 18 years, the original copy of the applicant’s birth certificate is required.
- Holders of this visa cannot seek public funds during their time in the country.
- Proof of the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of this visa should be provided.
Business visa
- Eligible applicants of this visa type are business-oriented travelers with the intention of engaging in business activities while they are in Costa Rica.
- Businessmen and businesswomen in the country are allowed to be involved in the negotiation and signing of business contracts.
- This visa allows foreigners to attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars relating to their profession.
- Applicants of this visa are required to present a letter from the inviting company in Costa Rica. The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the business trip.
- The business letter must state if the host company or sending company will be taking responsibility for coverage of the applicant’s finances.
- If employed, the applicant must provide a letter from his/her employer. The letter must state the job position, salary level, and the duration of the applicant’s leave.
- Proof of previous trade relations between the applicant’s company and the host company should be provided, if any.
- This visa does not allow you to receive payments for the services you render during your time in the country.
- Documents which show that the applicant has the incentive of returning his/her country is required.
