Application requirements
Documents Egyptian applicants need to provide.
- Passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
- Correctly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
- Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.
- Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
- Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
- Copy of return flight ticket.

Tourist visa
- This visa is issued to foreigners who are visiting North Korea with the intention of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
- Foreigners who have been invited to the country by their friends and relatives can apply for this visa.
- A letter of invitation from your host in the country is required if you are visiting a friend or relative. The letter should state the relationship between the applicant and the host and should be accompanied by a valid means of identification of the host.
- Tourists are free to attend festivals and events of their choice in the country.
- If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer should be provided. The letter must state the job position, salary level, and the length of the applicant’s employment.
- Foreigners cannot receive payments for the services they render during their time in the country.
- Minors should provide the original copy of their both certificate which carries both names of their parents. If the applicant is traveling with one or none of his/her parents, a letter of consent signed by both the applicant’s parents is required.
- A document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to your home country at the expiry of your visa is required.
- Proof of payment of non-refundable visa application fee should be provided.

- Foreigners applying for this visa are those who have the intention of developing working relationships between them and their partner companies.
- This visa allows you to be involved in the negotiation and signing of business contracts during your time in the country.
- Holders of this visa can attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars relating to their profession.
- An official letter of invitation from the inviting company is required. The letter should introduce the applicant and state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the visit.
- The letter must also state who will be responsible for the applicant’s finances while in the country.
- If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer in Egypt is required. The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state awareness and allowance of the business leave.
- Proof of previous business dealings between the inviting and sending company should be provided, if any.
- During your time in the country, you cannot take up paid or unpaid employment.
- The receipt that shows that the visa application fee has been paid in full is required.
