Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Lithuanian Visa.

Lithuania Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Lithuanian tourist visa is available for Gambians looking to travel to Lithuanian for visitation and tourism purposes.
  • Lithuania is part of the Schengen countries so you can apply for a Schengen visa.
  • The visa is also known as a short-stay Schengen visa. 
  • The short-stay Schengen visa allows for a stay of no more than 3 months, but it should be within six months from the date of entry into any of the member Schengen states. There are two types of Schengen tourist visa;
    • Single-entry visa: This visa is valid for three months and you are not allowed to re-enter the country with the visa.
    • Multiple-entry visa: This type of visa is issued to a traveler with the purpose of entering and exiting the nation on a periodic basis.
  • A copy of your return-ticket reservation is required. It is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa.
  • A Europe travel medical insurance confirmation of a minimum € 30,000 coverage within Lithuania and the entire Schengen area is required.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Lithuania must be provided. A foreign national who wants to enter the territory of the Republic of Lithuania, while applying for a Lithuanian Visa it needs to attest to the Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate possession of €40/day.
  • Currency restriction for entry into and exit out of Lithuania is 10,000 Euros.
  • Children traveling unaccompanied must have written permission from at least one parent or guardian to travel outside the country.
  • You are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.
  • Penalties for possession, use, or trafficking in illegal drugs in Lithuania are severe. Convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.
  • Driving while intoxicated is a very serious offense and carries heavy penalties.
  • If traveling with prescription medication, check with Lithuanian State Medicines Control Agency (SMCA) under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania to ensure the medication is legal in Lithuania. Always, carry your prescription medication in original packaging with your doctor’s prescription.
  • Public transportation is generally considered safe and is readily available via taxi, Uber, or bus. If utilizing taxi services, we recommend that travelers place a request via phone, app or hotel to ensure validity. 

Lithuania Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Gambians intending to travel to Lithuania for business purposes can apply for the Lithuanian business visa.
  • This visa is also known as a Schengen visa and it is valid for 90 days.
  • Invitation letter from the Lithuanian company you will be visiting and their detailed address accompanied with the dates of your visit must be provided.
  • This letter must include:
    • The identity of the applicant.
    • The journey’s purpose along with any meetings, training, conferences or business-related events.
    • The place and duration of the intended stay.
  • A certificate from your employer stating/allowing your business travel must also be provided.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided.
  • Applicants are required to provide bank statements for the latest 6 months.
  • Memorandum and Article of Association in original certified copy (registered with joint-stock companies) Trade License (first issued and present renewal), Proprietorship/Partnership documents must be provided.
  • Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in the Schengen zone, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation.
