Mozambique has its capital in the city of Maputo. It is a wonderful holiday destination because of its warm tropical climate. The dry season of May to November is the peak travel time and also best time to see Mozambique, as the temperature is cooler, there’s a lower chance of rain and perfect time for game viewing. The climate season which is the wet season is usually when you would expect brief showers of rain, which would then transcends to heavy downpours. Generally, the Mozambican people are extremely warm and friendly but petty crimes like muggings and robberies do occur.

In the town of Quissico, there is also the Chopi Music Festival.

  • Gorongosa National Park where you can see a variety of animal species and vegetation.There is also a bird watcher's paradise with over 400 species of birds.

  • Niassa Reserve, a nature reserve which consists of the Miombo forest, savannah and wetlands. The reserve is home to the African wild dog which is an endangered species. On a tour of the reserve, you will also find the elephant, sable antelope, buffalo, wildebeest and zebra. There is also a variety birds species and the Meculas Mountain.

  • The Quirimbas National Park is a great place to see African leopards, elephant herds, and crocs, as well as schools of multi-coloured fish from the tropics.

  • The National Art Museum which has a display of a small but good collection of Mozambican art, including several large canvases by the world-renowned Malangatana.
