Basic Travel Requirements for Swazis visiting Brazil

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Brazilian Visa.

  • Completely filled and signed visa application form.
  • An original passport that is valid for at least 6 months from entry date in Brazil. The passport must have 2 pages for visa stamps.
  • One-color photo size 3 x 4 cm, taken on a white background.
  • Round trip ticket.

Brazil Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is for Swazis visiting Brazil for a host of reasons including cultural and recreational activities, family visits, attending conferences, volunteer work, research, study, and teaching.
  • You are to prove that you can cater for your stay in Brazil by providing your last 3 months bank statement.
  • A letter of no objection is needed from your employer or school if you are a student.
  • Proof of accommodation which could be a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from a host in Brazil.
  • This letter must contain details of your trip and contact of your Brazillian host. The invitation letter is to be signed and notarized in Brazil while the original document is sent for the visa application.
  • You are not allowed to receive payment from Brazilian sources for any activity during your stay, except for compensation for travel and living expenses as well as competition prizes.
  • The tourist visa is a multiple entry visa that is valid for up to one year.
  • If you intend to stay longer than 90 days in Brazil, you will have to request for an extension at the Federal Police Department in Brazil within the first 30 days of your arrival in the country.
  • You cannot stay in Brazil for more than 180 days per any one year.
  • This visa costs $80 and is usually processed in 5 working days.

  • The business visa is for Swazis visiting Brazil for business and related activities.
  • With this visa, you can travel to Brazil for meetings, events, reporting, filming, surveying, signing contracts, audits and consulting.
  • You cannot receive payments or any sort of financial compensation for any activity you carry out while in the country.
  • A notarized letter from your employer and one from the inviting company in Brazil stating your qualifications, the nature of the business, dates of arrival and departure, financial responsibility and asserting responsibility for your departure.
  • The letter must be on both companies letterhead, signed by a senior manager introducing you and specifying your position in the company.
  • The invitation letter is to be signed and notarized in Brazil while the original document is sent for the visa application.
  • If you intend to stay longer than 90 days in Brazil, you will have to request for an extension at the Federal Police Department in Brazil within the first 30 days of your arrival in the country.

Brazil Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The work visa is for Swazi travelers who have been employed by an entity in Brazil or for rendering a service.
  • Duly completed application form is required.
  • Original birth certificate accompanied by an apostille (authenticating seal) is needed for this application. 
  • A police report of good conduct from your place of residence in Swaziland for the past 12 months should be provided for this visa application.
  • Proof of financial sustenance showing that you can cater for your stay in Brazil is also important. This could be a bank statement from the past 3 months or financial reports from the sponsoring company in Brazil. 
  • Documents supporting your employment in Brazil is required for this visa type.
  • The Brazilian company employing you is required to apply for a work permit on your behalf through the Brazilian Ministry of Labor for analysis. It takes about 30-90 days to obtain a work permit approval. 
  • The Brazilian company is also required to apply for a temporary resident permit on your behalf before the processing of this visa.
  • This visa costs $100 and allows a stay of more than 90 days up to a year.
  • If you intend to stay longer than your visa allows, you will have to request an extension at the Federal Police Department in Brazil within the first 30 days of your arrival in the country.

Brazil Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The student visa is for people traveling to Brazil to attend regular courses or participate in exchange or internship programs.
  • Holders of this visa are allowed to undertake paid legal employment in Brazil as long as it does not affect their studies.
  • Documentation showing that you have been accepted into a learning institution in Brazil is necessary.
  • A letter of acceptance from the academic institution that you have been accepted to is required. The letter should outline the nature of the study being undertaken in Brazil.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of financial capacity that covers their duration of stay.
  • The proof of financial sustenance to cover your study duration is needed. 
  • If on scholarship, you are to show evidence attesting to it and what the scholarship covers.
  • For internship purposes, documentation detailing the term of commitment between the trainee, the granting part of the internship and the educational institution where you are enrolled is necessary.
  • The aforementioned document should attest to compatibility between your area of knowledge and the activities you'll be carrying out in the internship.
  • Transcripts and results from previous learning institutions are necessary for this visa application.
  • Proof of payment of tuition fees is important.
  • Valid health insurance that covers your study duration is required.
  • If your study program is less than 90 days, you should be applying for a visitor visa, not a student visa.
  • Police Certificate from your place of residency issued within the last three months, certifying the absence of criminal records should be provided.
  • You will need to register for a temporary residence permit at the Federal Police in Brazil.
  • A receipt that shows payment of visa application fee has been made.
