Intercape Bus service is one of the prominent bus provider companies in Zimbabwe. It was founded in 1971 by Johan Ferreira Sr, who named it Central Bus Service then. Gradually, the company grew, expanded and was later renamed to Intercape in 1979.

Intercape transport operates in the following Africa countries: South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. They are so service-driven such that passengers are entertained with lots of family-friendly visual shows. Modern tracking devices are planted in all their buses and are monitored all year round. Drive Cam technology is also installed on the coach windscreens to monitor and manage the driver's behaviour. Onboard USB charging points, air conditioners, reading light switches and discounts for families, students, children and senior citizens are some of their bus features.

What happens in the event of a breakdown?


The driver immediately informs the 24-hour Operations Room who responds very fast and evaluates the breakdown and dispatches either the closest mechanic or a replacement coach.

What type of coach will i be travelling in?


The sales agent that sells you your ticket will inform you of the coach that you will be travelling on which can be either a Mainliner or Sleepliner.

How much luggage can I take with me?


Each passenger is allowed to take two pieces of luggage, which is at the owner's risk, each of which does not exceed 80 cm x 60 cm x 30 cm in size, of a total mass not exceeding and 30 kg. Luggage will be weighed, and luggage exceeding the allowance will be charged an additional rate per kilogram.

Do you give discount on any type of booking?


We give discounts for various categories of travellers including students, pensioners and SANDF employees. In order to qualify, passengers must have the necessary documentation e.g. A valid and current student card.
