Belize is a small Central American country located to the south of Mexico, east of Guatemala, and north Honduras. Its capital city is Belmopan. There are two major climates in Belize which are the rainy season (lasts from May through to November) and the dry season (from February to May).

Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary: This is also known as the Jaguar reserve for it is home to about 60 of Belize's 700 jaguars. It is an ideal spot for bird viewing, spotting other wildlife and plant-spotting.
Ambergris Caye: This is the largest of Belize's islands and presents the ultimate Caribbean experience with its classic beaches, fabulous cuisine, beautiful waters, and world class accommodation.
The Belize Barrier Reef: This is Belize's top tourist location known for the great scuba diving and snorkeling experiences it offers.
Belize City: This is Belize's largest city and used to be its capital. It is the cultural hub and centre of Belize and offers many cultural attractions.
The Mayan Ruins: Ancient Maya was a civilization know for its advancements in astronomical studies as well as its large cities displaying pyramids and other fascinating structures. Some of the most intriguing Mayan ruins in Belize are Barton Creek Cave, Lubaantun, Cerros, Cahal Pech, and El Pilar amongst others.

Belmopan is the smallest capital city in the world with a population of just over 12,000 people. It became the capital of Belize after the former capital, Belize City was almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Hattie in 1961.
