Know More About Cairo Hotels

The Arab Republic of Egypt is a trans continental country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East. The country is however mostly located in Northeast Africa. The country's climate varies from extremely hot in the summer to really cold in the winter. The winter (December to March) is cool, windy, and humid with occasional rainfall. Sometimes, it gets so cold that snow may even be sighted. Summer is from June to September when the country is very dry with extremely hot temperatures. The shoulder seasons (April to May, October to November) are the most pleasant months to travel to Egypt. Visitors in Egypt should dress moderately wearing trousers or long skirts, preferably loose fitting because of the heat.

Egyptian culture boasts five millennia of recorded history displaying a stable, yet complex culture that has been known to influence later cultures of Europe. Ethnic Egyptians account for about 91% of the population with the minorities being Turks, Greeks, Abazas, and Bedouin Arab tribes. Egypt is a majorly Islamic nation with only about 10% to 20% of the population being Christian. Egypt's National language is Egyptian Arabic.

Egyptian cuisine heavily features legumes, vegetables, and fruits from the rich Nile Valley and Delta. Egyptians mostly eat rabbit, pigeon, chicken, and duck for meat, frequently grilling lamb and beef. A staple in Egyptian cuisine is Pita bread (Eish baladi).
