Mongolia is a prime tourist destination because of its national museum which displays historic and ethnographic artifacts. In a bid to increase the number of foreign visitors to Mongolia, the government offered special tax exemption of up to 10% of the total investment offered for construction of highly rated hotels. Do not buy, sell, kill or capture any protected wild animal or trade its parts without a license. Anyone caught would receive lengthy prison sentences and a fine. Be aware of the local customs and avoid wearing short sleeves, this can be seen as offensive.
 
Nationals of United States, Brazil, Georgia, Serbia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine can visit Mongolia for up to 90 days without a visa. Citizens of Canada, Cuba, Germany, Israel, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, and Russia are allowed to visit the country without a visa for up to 30 days.
